How do you take off waterspots?

Yep, there are lot of polishing brand out there. Try the simplest one, and after cleaning your car with water and soap. Wax it or wipe it with clean cloth to eliminite these spots.

I too read about the Distilled White Vinegar to remove water spots on the glass.qballjr13 said:

Dilute it (1) part Vinegar (2) parts water...did not work.

I'm thinking of getting a water de-ionizing system to avoid water spots in the first place. More importantly, cause I'm lazy, so doing less is more. 
Similar to the Mr. Clean auto dry, except it'll last much longer.

I've responded to a similar post before so I figure I should repeat it here. Forget any special cleaners or concoctions, use steel wool. I use 0000 steel wool but you can use 000 and up to 00 safely on glass. It works perfectly, the steel wool lasts a long time, and all you have to do is follow it up with a regular glass cleaner. Just be careful around the edges near rubber trim.

1) Clay first (safe on all glass, including the coated windshield/ front doors/ hatch glass on the 4th gen)
2) Steel wool #0000 works well, with your glass cleaner of choice as a sort of lubricant (Windex is fine for this). DO NOT use steel wool on the coated glass!
Steel wool takes some time and scrubbing effort. #0000 is very fine grade and doesn't have a lot of cutting ability, but that's also what makes it pretty safe.

I had hard water spots too and ive spent the last year trying different things. The only thing that ended up working was a solution called "bio-clean water stain remover". I picked it up at a local commercial solution store for $15. Took it home and got to work.
here is a before pic, and it really doesnt do it justice for how bad it was:
i did the drivers window in about 10 minutes but dont get me wrong, its alot of work.
Dont be mistaken, the first picture is of my window, what your seeing is the reflection:
same with the 2nd:
You can also find this product online. Search around though some are priced at $21 and others at $13 so price shop because they are all the same product.
I have nothing to do with this product other than being a satisfied customer, but I personally guarantee it to work 110%

Not sure what type of steel wool you have used, but I just detailed an '06 SR5 and used 0000 steel wool on every exterior glass surface including the side mirrors. No scratches and no water spots. If you can scratch automotive glass by hand with 0000 steel wool then you need to lay off the steroids
