First, a huge thank you to this forum for the wealth of information that I have spent way too much time browsing through over the past few weeks (or really, years). I have been convinced to skip the Daystar spacer lift.
I have some final questions before I pull the trigger on upgrading my suspension. I have an '08 4WD V6 SE. I don't go offroad at all, but would not mind doing some light stuff, especially once I do this. Just some fire trails or whatever to get camping.
Plan: Ditch XREAS and go with Bilstein 5100's all around. I want a decent amount of lift but can't be doing $400 UCA's right now, so I am pretty set on 1.75" in the front.
My thinking has been FJ coils all around and a 1.5 spacer in the back. I know that some believe this maintains too much rake. I think I am ok with it based on Evan B's pics, but would not mind slightly less on the rear - more than FJ springs/5100, but less than FJ/5100/1.5. Is there a different coil I can put on? A smaller spacer? People swear by the FJ coils, so I'm leaning to work with those if I can (found some with 40,000 miles for $50 + $30 shipping, but I'm wary of the mileage).
If I can't find an FJ set, what are some similar options? Stock springs with 5100 at 1.75 and rear spacer? Is there a well-liked, affordable spring alternative to the FJ's? I have read some debate about whether the Bilstein's should be used with non-OEM coils.
Tires will likely be 265/70/17 Toyo OC A/T2.
Also, if anyone in Denver wants to get their hands dirty, lemme know.
