It will, Singtoe has a 4.7 in his third gen and I can keep up. Granted he has a bunch more low end torque.
That 4.7 in a heavier AWD 4th Gen, the boosted 3.4 will destroy...but that 3.4 will need the fuel mods and other accessories...I doubt a simply S/C'ed 3.4 would keep up
I did 96MPH today, just wanted to let her breathe, and had a nice open stretch to safely do so

I see you edited your post, I was going to say destroyed wouldn't be the right words. Judging by what you say I'd imagine they're probably pretty even in a race....but then again racing 4,000# SUV's is kinda silly.

They are actually pretty close. You would be surprised. Both our trucks are similarly built and they basically run dead even.

Yes, you are probably right. But I guarantee if I took a stock V8 AWD 4th gen down the strip it would be VERY close

So it's a real life joke between friends on an Internet forum with thousands of users. I can see how that could be taken out of context, it's super annoying when someone drives a nice sports car or luxury sedan and people always jump to conclusions bashing the owner of said car.

97ish. I was flooring it down a hill trying to hit 100 and this bi*** fat woman pulled out in front of me and I had to slam on the brakes to slow down. Ended up with two badly warped rotors. I know, it was totally my fault I warped the rotors, not the fat woman...:nono: But in my 650 ninja I have hit 125 mph :zoom:.That was probably the most terrifying event of my life. At the end of the day it's just not worth it.

IIRC, Singtoe has the 4.7 without the VVT-I. The VVT-i adds pronounced power, both high and low. The AWD on the 4th gens also adds no additional drag. I owned a 2003 V8 without the VVT-i and it absolutely felt slower. This is just a discussion anyway, I would definitely be interested to see an actual race between the two.

Agreed on the difference between VVT-I and non VVT-I I have an '03 and my dad has an '05, the difference is real.
A race video can definitely be arranged. It'd be a good reason to fire up the go-pro. It will of course be on a sanctioned race way or "some road in Mexico".

Around 140, it's limited to 155 but I don't have the balls (or maybe lack of brains) to drive that fast on any public road. She loves to cruise at 100mph though and feels like my 4Runner at 60.

I actually sold it recently, I want a G35 coupe next. But I found a lifted Jeep for dirt cheap that needs control arms so I am probably buying that. I go through vehicles like some people go through underwear.

Lower 90s 255/85/16s at that speed with my lift and loaded down for our cross country trip list past summer. (yakima, fuel and water containers on the roof and tons of other stuff) I couldnt run that fast for long. In Montana I was getting passed by everyone b/c the fastest I felt comfortable with cc set was 78-82.

It was pretty darn accurate with my supercharged viper after a true dyno run.
Most truck tires are only rated for 120mph so you're a smart man. Can't safely go much faster (if it's even safe going that fast in a brick)

We did race, kind of sort of. 1/4 mile from my range to the shop. Not sanctioned but kind of the spur of the moment kind of thing.
To be fair.
Dous was running 285's and I was on 265's. So advantage me.
I was running my 2.5" crappy air filter along with a snorkel which chokes horribly at higher rpms, So advantage Dous.
Dous has every conceivable modification to his engine minus Ethylene injection while my 2uz is bone stock with exception of 2.5" exhaust. So Advantage Dous.
I believe that Dous's truck will smoke any other 3.4 4runner supercharged or turbocharged out there just because of the amount of modifications his runner has. I have seen the add on STI Turbo but would need some better fuel management to get all the power it should be able to obtain. Plus a turbo would have even more lag then the supercharger.
His truck is fast but it is a rocket ship fast. It starts off slow but winds the hell out fast. It is a bumpy (maybe tires), vibration (as you can feel the combustion of every cylinder) speed demon.
While mine starts out very quickly but feels like it is breathing through a straw at top end. So it feels like a stock 4runner that just goes fast.
In it's ideal setting (the trail ), The 2UZ-FE is king. :trophy:

Beggars cant be choosers. I got my non VVT-I motor for free. I believe the vvt-i motor pumps out 50 more horses. I still love my 4runner though. It is full of awe.
I am game. The question is - Is it a top speed race or the quickest 1/4 mile or even 1/8 mile. The only track near here is 1/8 mile and the low end of V8 will surely clean up in short run.
Now on a side note. I do know every cop in my area and might get away with a 2 mile blast down 70....:zoom:
