How hard is it to make the rear cig lighter plug always on?

Link here to JA's mod. He's pretty much an electrical guru on the 4th gen. He has lots of other electrical mods on his website.

This is interesting, thanks. I guess the only problem will be that I do have a USB hub and Hard drive that are wired to the cig lighter outlet in the front. I would have to split it because I dont want hard drives spinning and hub on when key is not in.

In your case you won't be able to use JA's mod at all, you will have to isolate the rear power point and connect it to a constant power source and leave the front power point in it's original configuration with the relay intact.
It would be nice if you can find the wire that leads to the back power point up in the front and disconnect it from the relay circuit and then connect it to a constant power source, otherwise you will have to run a new wire all the way to the back, which is probaly the easiest way to do it but would involve a lot of fishing that wire to the back to make it look neat/clean/factory installed or just run it wherever you can to get it to the back if you don't care how it gets to the back.
However you do it document how you accomplish it for others who may want to do the same Mod!!
