If you're not super good with mechanics how hard would it be to order a front bumper and winch and install it myself? I can do stuff like change differential oil and trans case oil, brake pads, radiator flush, etc. I don't know how to fix a broken engine though so mostly suspension type stuff. I think a cv axle would be out of my reach though. Just wondering because I don't want to pay the labor on bumper, winch install lol.

its pretty easy with 2 people when trying to bolt the bumper and winch in place.
Its pretty hard to do it by yourself. You will need a floor jack, and wood to get the bumper aligned because its heavy and awkward.
The cutting part is easy and self explanatory. Just measure twice and cut once.
You will also have to bend a bunch of stuff out of the way very carefully.
I have done multiple installs, and i probably wouldn't ever do it by myself again....lol.

Be careful with wiring though. Route it properly, protect where needed and make sure all connections are very secure. That heavy gauge wire getting cut or coming loose and shorting out can easily end in a 4runner bonfire.

Curious if anyone has made that work on 2014+ non Limited 5th gens.
It is much easier on the 2014+ non-limited than limited. you just use a template and cut a hole for the fairlead in the front valence.

I'm up in St. Augustine and I'll have my Artec Venture bumper up for sale in probably 3-4 weeks. I have a full C4 Overland replacement bumper I need to get painted and installed but am busy the next several weekends.
Winch/fairlead not included but the 30" 5Watt Combo beam Black Oak light bar will be. There's a couple of rock scratches on the bottom of the bumper but you can't see them unless you are on the ground looking up. $650 with the light bar, $750 and I'll help you install it. Cash / local only.

Going with a lo pro bumper isn't just all about looks as they also usually include recovery points.
If you go with the hidden winch mount, you'll also need to buy recovery points since T4R's don't have rated points from the factory.
Install will probably be only slightly easier or the same, and would look cleaner with the hidden mount. But you'll be getting close to the cost of a lo-pro bumper with both of those

After looking at both hidden mounts, the SDHQ says it has recovery points integrated, but the budbuilt does not. But it's a good bit more $

I know what you are talking about. they are meant to be used for recovery, but I would choose one with the recovery points in line with the frame (down low by the winch fairlead). when the recovery points are up high next to the light bar, they act like a lever and the bumper can get pulled down or away from where it normally sits.

Hardest part for me is pulling the trigger on the expense... Don't know how many times i put on in a shopping cart, just to close out the window. In my case it's more of a want, not necessarily a need.
