How important are these "elite care products"?

When you guys wax. How do you avoid getting it on the black trim? I remember waxing on my other car and it turning all the black trim white.
Tell me the tricks or some wax that won't do that.

I use Klasse All-In-One and Sealant Glaze. It last a long time and takes much less effort than Zanio to apply.

Results of a wax test

I expected that this link would have been posted on this board before now, but apparently not. This is an independent test of several products, including an expensive elite or premium one.

This test agrees with stuff I've read before on experiments to see how long normal waxes usually last. It's not long--usually a few weeks to a couple of months.

This is a big vehicle and I don't often have time for wax, so I was interested in something that offered good protection and shine, and lasted a long time. I ended up choosing the zaino stuff because it met my needs best. It's a polymer of some kind, and not a traditional wax, and it really does protect and last. I'm still getting great beading after 18 months, though I should note that I live in a pretty moderate climate and the vehicle is garaged when I'm not at work or driving it.

Side benefits of this product are that it's easy to apply; no toxic fumes, not much to wipe off, and doesn't seem to show much when it gets on rubber or black plastic. It's pretty inexpensive, too, though it's usually a mail-order item.
