How Long After CEL Reset?

Okay folks, I have had a CEL for about 9 months now (LOL) and I knew it was the passenger side down stream O2 sensor from previous code pulling. I fixed it, reset the CEL, took the vehicle for a 10 minute drive which included starting, stopping, heavy and light accelerations.

The CEL has not come back on- is there a set amount of time the light will stay off before kicking back on if something else is wrong? Or would it be immediate?

The O'Reilly guy gave me a list about my ABS, VSC, TRAC and suggested I replace my gas cap, fuel lines, evap lines, all 4 o2 sensors and that he would cut me a good deal on parts. :wtf:

I have emissions testing coming up this next month (CO does the IM240 and Dynamometer test- no OBDII because it still fits on the dyno and the car is old AF) and I'm hoping the CEL stays off.

I guess I'm just worried that the CEL will stay off until the day before testing because of some set time the ECU must process all the changes and check itself against factory standards.

Maybe I'm just overly concerned and need a few more beers. Either way, any and all input is greatly appreciated! :ranger:

You need to complete a drive cycle for all the monitors to achieve “ready” status.
There’s some threads on here detailing how to complete the drive cycle faster if you’re due for an emissions check.
