How long will you keep your 4runner

Mine is a 2006 V6 Urban Runner. I love it totally!! How long do you guys thing IT SHOUD last. I make sure all oil changes are done all the time! Everything is always done! How many miles will it run until it becomes worn out??

Does anyone know the history on the V6 in that truck? Is it a proven relaiable motor for the long haul? I really want to get 200k out of it!

You know, I have a V6 SR5 and was debating on whether I should change it on 100-150K or not, From asking 4runners happy owners, most of them are telling me 250-300K!! I think I will ride mine for that long. I'm currently at 75K

I'll probably keep mine until it's no longer driveable lol. I'm taking extra special care of this vehicle, one, because it was the most expensive vehicle I've ever bought, and two, with the economy the way it is, there's no telling when I'll ever be able to afford another one. Plus I am now very very attached to my T4R, had it almost two years now with over 30K on the clock and it's still as clean as the day we bought it, actually it's a little cleaner than the dealership had it LOL. I guess my engine bay cleaning habit has it's good points.

I hesitate posting an answer to this...I'd love to say that I'll keep it until she dies but I might not...in another post I stated that I almost got rid of her but changed my mind ( I wanted a big diesel)...this could happen again...or it might not. Now the mod bug has me again and I've fallen back in love...phew, like any divorce, that could have been expensive!!! My goal now is to get her paid off and then it won't matter, I can just add to the fleet instead of trading her off...that is until I change my mind... LOL...

I had a 97 tacoma for 9 yrs/165k miles and sold it for $4k. I hope to keep the 4R well beyond its extended warranty (100k miles/84 months). The plan is to be payment free next year.

I'll easily keep her till 120-150K's. And with the world's economy the way it is I'm not getting myself into any payments any time soon.
Nice thing about the runner is all a person has to worry about is oil/gas/maintenance.

Ill be keeping mine for quite a while, at least 10 years. Im pretty OCD about maintenance so I dont expect any problems. I should be paid off this year, and dont plan on having a car payment ever again.

Got mine about 3 years ago with 49k on it. Just hit 145k with 12 more payments and it mine Gonna keep it till the frame rusts through or as long as oil is around, lol.

I look forward to bragging about having 500,000 miles plus on my 4 runner. Maybe someday I'll have kids and pass this truck onto them. I'm at 150,000+ miles with my 2004 and working on more every day.

I bought mine with 173K on it, so I definitely plan on keeping it till I can afford a newer one, or till she won't budge.

I love my 97 and I'm the 4th owner and it still feels brand new to me.

Keeping mine till my 3 year old daughter is old enough to drive it. LOL No joke I tend to hold on to vehicles as long as I can. Good thing the 4runner is not my daily driver.

As long as it doesnt pull any Grand Cherokee type nonsense, Ill keep it a while! I just clicked 750 miles today.

My previous car was a 4.0L Grand Cherokee. What a difference between 4.0 engines.
My 4R v6 can really move!
Plus I don't miss the manifold and water pump issues.

My 04 has 115 K and still going strong.
I probably won't get rid of it till it starts feeling unreliable, have only have had very minor issues. So I this rate, might have to keep it forever.

Oh.. I plan on driving mine for a while, who knows how long. All I know is it's well made and expect it to last 7 or 8 years without a major problem, and that's all I can ask from a car. If it's goes 10 without one, that's like playing with house money. Drivin' and smilin' at that point.
