How long will you keep your t4r?

I've had my 2013 for almost 2 yrs, 42000 km. definitely love the vehicle, but kinda wish I waited for the new Tundra platinum. I will keep the 4Runner for at least 4-5 more years as it's paid off and I'm committed already. Might still keep it even after I buy a Tundra or Lexus.

I'm keeping mine forever. It's turning into a wheeling rig only. I'll be forever playing with it.

I go back and forth. I say I'm going to keep it forever and I would love my kids to drive it, because I know its reliable and a tank. Then I think...man I would like a 5th gen. So it changes everyday. Today though I'm going to say stick with it.

2014 T4R...yeah, Thats easy...until it is undrivable, either by accident, or by wear...

the plan, pay it off, make a few mods when the payment is staying in my own pocket, use it to transport each of my two kids to college in 2019 thru 2025 or so...and on and on and on.

Ive got an 2003 F150 with 135,000 - purchased in 2004, where all i heard was 'FORD-Found On Road Dead' and it runs like a top...so i wouldnt expect anything less from this vehicle...i bought it after reading so many guys tout the 200,000 mark being an easy reach...and that is what im counting on.

:boxing:

Got mine with the idea I would let my son earn it for when he starts driving in 2 years. We will see how that works out. In the mean time we use it for trips and DD. Probably keep it til 200k.

Till its not possible anymore, which means it would have to be completely toast, I have no problem with putting in any new parts, or chopping it up.

I'm coming up on 18 years. It still looks and runs nearly like it did the day I bought it new off the lot.

I have people make offers to buy it on a fairly regular basis. I haven't felt compelled to sell it yet.

Had my 2003 for 175k miles and 11 years. Sold it to my brother who daily drives it. Plan to keep my 2012 for a long time. My son is 8 and is already asking if he can have it when he's 16 :-). Have some mods but hope to turn it into more of a dedicated rig at some point.

I bought her cash in hand and have put too much love into her to ever get rid of her.

When the engine goes she'll get a new one. The only way she will leave is totaled beyond repair.

Probably for at least 200,000 miles (2030?).... Hopefully I'll still be functional and still have a drivers license at that time.

Forever until it dies (or not).

Black one (plasti-dipped, green original), 1997, gen3, 18yrs old, 270kmiles on it

Silver one, 2015, gen5, a month old, <1kmiles on it

I had BMW, Porsche in between, but still ended up getting another T4R while the other one is still going.

I will keep mine for 10 years and then reevaluate where I am personally and what is out there. I'll be 62 then, maybe burned out on off-roading? Maybe more into it that ever? Hard to tell.

Likely there won't be much in the way of replacements. 4runner wont be the same at all even if it exists then. Will there be anything else like it even?

If not, then I'll keep it another 10 and repeat the process...

I'm planning to keep mine at least 15 years from now. Whenever, I get another vehicle, my T4R TE will remain my dedicated trail rig. DRM CHZR and I have many years to chase dreams together.
