We can analyze thread after thread, post after post... you're gonna see the same patterns over and over again....
Add lift, wheels, tires, rack, skids (insert exterior mod of choice)... you will see your mpg basically drop about 1 mpg for every exterior mod that adds weight or height or wind resistance, etc.
These trucks only like going about 60-65 or less... go faster than that, and once again, you will see your mpg drop by about 1 mpg for every 5mph over 60-65.
On a stock Runner in 2wd doing 60-65, most of us should all see about 21-22 mpgs. Some see a bit higher from time to time, some see a bit lower. I've owned three different model Runners... this rule has held true to all of them.
If you have a bone stock Runner and you are getting less than 19-20(ish), you either live in the hills/mtns, tow/haul stuff, or have a seriously heavy right foot (and there is certainly nothing wrong with that).
All other owners not in stock form, see above. After owning three of these, none of this has changed and won't until they change the gearing or engine.
Happy holidays!
