I am on my 4th 4Runner.
Started in '86 with a new 1st gen white 4 banger. My sister totaled it before it was two years old. Four people in it at the time with nobody hurt, but the vehicle spun around about 5 times in the middle of the road.
Drove a Chevy long bed PU for awhile, then traded for a blue 1st gen two door six banger T4R. I had it parked in the street and some young girl in her very first car on her very first day as a new driver ran into the back of it. Traded it in on a Jeep Grande Cherokee. Beautiful vehicle. It just wasn't a 4Runner.
Traded the Cherokee in on a green 2nd gen 4 door 6 banger T4R. I wish I still had it. I replaced the stock front bumper with a massive aluminum wench housing, but never got as far as getting the wench. It looked great though, until I decided I wanted a 5th wheel camper. Bye, bye 4Runner. Hello 1997 Dodge RAM 2500 diesel. Hello Country Star by Newmar. Probably the biggest financial mistake of my otherwise relatively frugal life.
Got rid of that travel package just this year.
Now it's a 2004 4x4 Sport V8, with the best sounding stereo of all my previous vehicles. You gotta love a ride with good tunes!
