How many cans of Rustoleum for pair of sliders?

Hi guys, thinking of getting a raw set of sliders to save a little bit of greenbacks. How many cans have any of you used to paint a set of sliders? Also, probably need primer right?

I used 2 cans of self etching primer and then 1 can of textured rocker panel paint and an 1 can of black. I keep an additional can of the black for touch ups.

I'd plan on at least 2 rattle cans of primer and 4 rattle cans of paint per slider. Figure any extra (and there won't be much) can go towards touch ups, which you're going to do at least once a year, and more if you live anywhere there is weather.

prep goes a long, long way. Originally I used a scotch pad and denatured alcohol on my raw sliders. After one winter, I needed to remove them and start fresh.

The second time around, I sandblasted them. The etch primer adhered very well, and the hammertone rustoleum went on beautifully. 2 winters later, they are still going strong. I'll do some touchups if we ever make it to spring, but i definitely don't need to start over again.

The rustoleum hammertone is great. I've touched up some long gouges, and it has this nice self-levelling property that makes touchups very easy to blend. I have a short friend that uses them as steps to get in my truck with his studded wading boots. the rustoleum gobbled up those rusty divots too.

I agree with Angelo. 4 cans per side was perfect for my OPOR sliders.
