How many miles before your tires needed to be rebalanced?

I just had my michelins rotated again, (every 6-8K miles) and I'm at 26K miles. Seem to be wearing pretty smooth and the steering wheel has not shimmied. After this rotation today it did feel a little different, and will have to get it on the freeway and try it at 70 mph to see if I need to rebalance the fronts. Dealer did not want to rebalance unless I was having a problem when I took it in today, but gave himself an out saying it is alway possible that they might need to be rebalanced. I guess I'm just wondering how long others, tires are holding their balance?

Just at 30k, and no balance problems with the OEM Bridgestone H/Ts. But, since I switch to REVOs for the winters, I probably have only 20k on the H/Ts. I am doing a five tire rotation with the H/Ts each time I put them on in the spring.

I had my Michelins checked after 20k miles and two of them needed to be rebalanced. No problems with wheel vibration before, but they moved the wheel weight on one wheel over by 2 inches and put on a bigger weight on the other one.

Thanks guys, I've been checkin mine and the steering wheel is smooth and stable at 70 mph on a smooth highway but on a rough highway I feel more bounce then I use too so I think I will have all four rebalanced at around 30K miles which would be my next rotate.
