look dudes, just because you don't track a sports car makes you not a poser. just because you offroad your 4runner doesn't make you any more a legitimate, less poser of an owner than someone who does not.

at the end of the day what you do with your car outside of public roads is... called.. a HOBBY.

Wrong.

Why? It's all a hobby. Let the people mod as they wish and drive it as they wish. My definition of a poser is someone to takes their hobby (99.999% of us) and turns it into a fantasy "career" when in fact it's posing to the utmost because you're spending your time/$$$ into it getting feel good returns on it (poser high) v. someone paying your arse thereby making you a credible professional in the field of driving.

Otherwise, the people calling out the poser are no better than the poser themselves... in fact, they're in worse shape (you) as they're stuck in the land of denial.

Back to the topic at hand, I only take my runners off road at the Gf's parents place (big farm area) and for a guy that spends some time on the track (quite a few cars) I have to admit it's pretty damn fun, different, but fun.

all of this is a hobby. so just because one doesn't off-road their lifted trucks or race their lowered cars doesn't make you into a poser.

what makes you a poser is when you confuse your hobbyist status to professional or calling out hobbists with lifted trucks, lowered cars as posing regardless of what they choose to do with it--> you.

I've taken my 4runner off road twice just to check out the awd low and make sure that it actually works. Where am I in the big scheme of things? I have a feeling that I may of been off roading more than 1/2 of the T4R owners. How many of you are hard core off roaders?

I'm a total POSER!

Not hard core, that's for sure, but an off road index measured by vehicle capability divided by a combination of trail volume and difficulty might exonerate me of the charge of "posing with a 4WD vehicle".

My truck sees a LOT of back country use (semi-retired). I could easily justify more off road modding for what I do, but I'm cheap. My cheapness has saved me. :bigok:
