How many of us are posers?

I gotta agree, though it's not often you see the words 'Porsche' and 'worst' in any sentence. My 4Runner is the first automatic tranny vehicle I've ever owned. It's easy to drive in stop and go traffic and on multiple stop lights roads.
The 911 wants the open road, as serpentine as possible, and the race track that has right as well as left turns.

We live at the end of a four-mile dirt road, and need every bit of the T4R capability just to get home at the end of the work day especially during winter. In the summer, we fish the back country of Eastern Washington and North Idaho as far away from other people as we can get. Don't think we are "posers". Regards, Mike

I don't do any hardcore rockcrawling, but I try to go to the beach every weekend.
Some places wouldn't rank as hardcore, but I'd definately say that not every vehicle with 4lo would make it, you need something capable and a good driver.

A lot of people tell me I'm crazy for taking a nice vehicle off road, but that's why I bought it. If I wanted to be a street queen I'd drive my slammed BMW

And you are right, there was salt in there! But it's rock salt, so really, this is almost like traversing some mountain road...you know, since it had rocks in it. :lmao:

Not a poser at all. Mine tows my ATV, and I have to go down some pretty nasty roads to get where I am going. Even with 2wd, I have not had an issue yet, in mud or snow.

Same here. An old saying is 4x4 will just get you stuck 15 feet further down the trail than a 2wd. Our TR4 is mainly used for haulin' kiddos, but 3-4 times a year we make a pretty hairy trek up a steep rocky trail to a cabin in Oklahoma. My V6 2wd does about as well as my 04 Z-71 avalanche did - I just got to be a little more careful. Tows alot better than I thought it would. The sport suspension is bodacious. I keep trying to convince my old lady we need a new 4x4, but in reality we really don't. We have snow like 3 times a year in DFW, and my fwd car is enough for that...and my trade in value slurps...

Well, I am a professional Harley Davidson "poseur" ( I prefer the French pronunciation thank you) and have many years in this vocation...only recently did I realize I could even be a 4Runner poseur as well...so I will have to give this much thought as I don't want to negatively effect my HD status that I have worked so hard to achieve.

I doubt that you will find any vote against owning one here. The only question is which model? All of them are near perfect for the mission that each was designed for.

Tacoma is pure street queen that sees snow during the winter months, and the same story for my new to me 4th gen. Pure street queens...lol!!!
