How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

Ive been lurking in here for a few months now and the mrs and I have decided on a SR5 Premium. We don't need the 3rd row seats. We went to a dealership to get pricing this past weekend and was quoted roughly 38k MSRP 37 +TTL was just a tick over 40. After finding this thread I know now that it is a bit high.

New to the forum and just purchased my 3rd 4runner. Thank you to all that share such GREAT info!!!

Bought a Silver 2014 LE, no extras other than the floor mats. I traded my 2012 LE that has 34,500 miles. (First 4runner was a wonderful 2005 LE V8, 210,000 trouble free miles)

Here are the numbers:

2014- MSRP $44,485, final price $41,741. For the 2012 trade in- $34,000
When it arrives then I will pay everything else. Tax here is 5% of the difference in price and trade in price, other fees about $150. My registration was just paid on the 2012 so it will transfer over.

I'm happy with the deal and look forward to the new design. It will arrive in 2 weeks. :clap2:

I'm looking at a 4x4 SR5 Premium with 3rd Row Seating.

I just got a call from a dealer saying they will do $35,900 + tax, fees, etc.

What do you guys think?

I had a dealer email saying he wont haggle over email and to "get your best offer and I will beat it by $100".

According to edmunds that about $500 under invoice, even more if it has mats, cargo cover and convenience pkg. Good deal. You can probably do a better but is it worth the time and effort?

Ummmmm. Toyota's aren't lasting as much as they did in the 90's? Based on what? I have an 02 Camry that's still going strong.

Thanks to the wealth of information on this board and the internet, we got our new 4Runner a few weeks ago and loving every minute of driving it. Especially in the snow!

2014 4x4 LE Attitude Black, Redwood interior, 3rd row, all weather mats, exhaust tip and running boards $42,560 OTD without taxes (taxes to be paid in our state). Sticker price was $46,478 but we switched mats and added the exhaust tip. Hope that information can help someone looking to purchase. We had to travel out of state to find what we were looking for at the right price and it was worth it, IMO. Just be patient and do your homework.

Negotiations started through a dealer on TrueCar.com but that's not where we ended up buying due to availability on colors/specs. However, the dealer did match the TrueCar.com price. Edmunds suggested pricing was significantly higher in our area.

I don't remember if you were looking for a 4x4 or what, but first mods I would do is tires and sliders!

Where in SOCAL are you? Make sure to visit the socal section if you want to take it on a run every once in a while.

I'm in Orange County pretty much right next to DisneyLand. I ended up getting the 4x4.

Tires are 2nd on my list ... just after some FloorMatts hahah!

Nice Rodman, we're SoCal super white SR5 4x4 twins! I freaking love it too. I paid just about the same from Power Toyota in Irvine. You planning on doing the tire swap with stock suspension for now? I'll have to follow any mods you make to get ideas!

Wow! Lots of numbers out there. Last week I bought a 2014 Trail in Super White: KDSS, navigation, Entune Apps Suite, remote start, all weather mats, chrome exhaust tip. We settled on a price of 36,900. I put down a significant down payment and was financed at 4.3% over 72 months for the rest. The MSRP was 39,702. The best part of the deal....I did the entire transaction over the phone with a dealership 3 hours away. The salesman drove the 4Runner to me that night!

2014 4runner got it for 38560 OTD with a 2500 roll over from my trade still came out under MSRP which was 39600has KDSS,NAV, all weather floor mats.. Financed at 2% so im happy.... Already ordered some DuraTracs so i cant wait.

I want to give a shout out to 4r2014. He was pretty much spot on about prices one can get in Socal area. Thanks 4r2014!! Hopefully he was not given a break from T4R. I know the OP wanted to know just the OTD price but I really wanted to see the whole picture for what I was paying for. I am not a savy negotiator and was short in time in my stay in Socal but I think I could have gotten even lower price if I had more time. But I'm very satisfied with I ended up with.
MSRP is $41,830.00
Internet Special Price is $39,647.00
Invoice $38,533.00

Price $37,900.00 $633.00 under invoice or $3,930.00 off MSRP
Non-negotiable fees:

Mossy Toyota. I followed some of your posts and you are looking for a TP. I do not think Mossy has a TP now. You are at a good starting point being in socal already. I would recommend trying Cerritos Toyota and they have them in stock. I was initially quoted $38300 which is below invoice already but I think you can do better than what I got from Mossy Toyota. Even Carlsbad also TP in stock quoted that they will beat the $38300 but need to negotiate in person. Just make the dealer to bid off each other and you will do good. Read up on 4r2014 posts in this thread which really help me a lot. Good luck!

I went on www.carcostcanada.com and offered $500 over invoice. They took it plus threw in rust protection and window tinting.

In some areas, Toyota dealerships will never in a million years tell you a price, let alone negotiate a price over the phone or online. The only way they will talk is after they get you in the door. I've tried using their online "price quote" request right on their own website, and every single local dealer responds with a vague email asking for your phone number and to set up a test drive. They won't even confirm or deny if a particular vehicle is in stock.

Right now i'm trying to negotiate with a few dealers on buying a 2014 and i'm trying online. Honestly, I feel like none of them are budging. Am I doing something wrong?

I say can you do so and so under invoice and they all say they can't do it over email and that's it. I try to pit them against each other and say so and so offered me this much and they tell me that's a great deal go for that dealer (except it's not the color I wanted).

Do you guys just straight up email/phone the dealer and ask if they will take XYZ OTD?

It's a decent deal. There's nothing wrong with trying to get them to go lower especially since they want to clear them off the lot. I'm picking up my 13 Limited tomorrow. MSRP $43,538 and getting it for $38,072 which is $5,500 off. I would push for a lower price.

edit: Picked it up today. The MSRP was $43,538 but when I got there I noticed some dealer added options (tint, carpet mats, paint sealant, lifetime powertrain warranty, paint sealant) that put the final sticker price to $45,131. They of course still honored the $38,072 price that we had agreed upon so I basically ended up with some free dealer added options. Ended up scoring the car for $7059 off sticker price. Couldn't be more happy with the car and the purchase price.

Maybe stupid question, but had to ask... I'm assuming this is OTD 38,072?
