Newbie for sr5 premium w/ 3rd row

Hi t4r! Semi-long time lurker here (I've been reading the forums and salivating since early 2012). I've finally narrowed down my choice of a 4 runner to an sr5 premium 4x2. I initially wanted a TE

How does $36,584.84 sound for a Barcelona Red sr5 premium w/ 3rd row seating before TTL? The dealer says that's invoice, but I was hoping they could come down to between $34000 and $35000.

Too high. I just negotiated the same car in Metallic Gray for $33,900 and had then throw in running boards. This was for a family member.

I wonder if it's the color. There are a bunch of mag grey, silvers, whites and blacks around Houston, but no red. Still, I don't see why a Barcelona red w/ 3rd row seat will cost the same as a TE. What would you suggest?

I'm only see 11 of them available in the US right now via Cars.com

2014 SR5 Premium - 4x2 Red

What you have to realize that in addition to being a rare color, you're dealing with Gulf States Toyota. I refer to them as the Gulf States Cartel. As far as Texas goes, they are some of the worst to deal with. If you want a great deal on a Toyota, you're better off heading outside the GST region. I traveled to Phoenix to get my Trail Premium with KDSS because (A) Gulf States doesn't get ANY 4Runners with KDSS and (B) most of the dealers in Texas overprice their cars. I got my 4Runner for a few grand less than they were demanding at the Texas dealers and their rigs did not have KDSS.

As far as the SR5 Premium I mentioned above, I took the lowest dealer price I could find nationwide (which miraculously was at a dealer in Dallas) and took it into the local dealer here and told them we're not paying a dime over that price. They squealed and moaned but after walking out and telling them I'd go to another dealer and offer the same deal, they caved and honored the deal.

If I were you I'd try the same approach. Show them the lowered priced similar rigs and tell them you're considering other colors BESIDES red. Tell them you're willing to pay the lower price (say $34K + TTL) and buy today. If not, tell them you'll head over to dealer X down the road and buy another one.

Invoice is too much, 2k below invoice would be an awesome deal, but 1500-1000 off invoice is reasonable.

Thanks Jeff. I'll do that.

Are you taking $1K-$2K below invoice? I am negotiating on a TE Prem w/ KDSS and unsure how low I can go.

If you can negotiate that low do it! They can only say no. Use Jeff M's strategy and use the cheaper option you find on cars.com as your bargaining tool.

Purchase 4WD 4Runners in Florida

Try these guys. My best deal on a new 2014 4WD 4Runner. I had to wait 4 weeks for delivery. We have many Toyota dealers in south Florida. In the past, I have purchased from a couple here, and Checkered Flag Toyota in Virginia Beach, Va, 1100 mile from my home. My recent purchase was worth the drive, about 55 miles from here.

Toyota of Vero Beach FL Toyota - New & Used Cars - Great Prices - Vero Beach Toyota Serving the St. Lucie Florida Area Brandon Neal 772-569-8000 Cell 772-501-2104

This dealer will not bother you with phone calls, e-mails, etc.

I settled on a Classic Silver Metallic SR5 premium 4x2 for $38500 OTD. Options include:
 • Remote Start
 • Mats
 • Cross bars
 • Tint
 • PPF
 • 3rd row seat
 • Ball Mount

What do you guys think? I'm picking it up this evening. Even though the hubs convinced me of the color durability of the silver I still feel like I settled for not getting the Barcelona red.

So now I'm planning on getting red sliders/RB's ala warthog, and plastidipping the accents black and red. Some black and red wheels will finish off the look when I get new tires. Now I'm excited!

Looks like you paid at least $1K too much. What was the sale price BEFORE TT&L? Same car without the 3rd row can be had for $33,900. Bump it to $34,900 with the 3rd row option.

Congrats though. Not a huge deal and besides, you're getting a sweet new rig.

Price before TTL was $35,800. The remote start is what bumped it up that high. But yeah, it is a sweet rig. I'm pleased with it and I'm quickly getting the hang of getting in and out without running boards. I think the truck looks better without them.

Hey guys,

Been reading the threads but first time poster. Just started looking around for a 2014 4Runner Trail Premium with KDSS in the SoCal area (Around Long Beach).

So far Cabe Toyota in Long Beach has quoted 38.7K.

That quote includes the sliding rear cargo deck (not really interested in it) and exhaust tip and carpet floor mats.

Sounds like I can get it lower elsewhere. What do you guys think?

Update: Got another quote for 38k (no TTL included).

Bought my 2014 SR5 Base on 4/13 from Deerfield Toyota (Deerfield Beach Toyota).

Sticker was $35,899 which included the rear sliding deck, carpeted floor mats, running boards, etune premium, and some Southeastern Toyota BS add on for $699.

Breakdown was as follows:

Negotiated Price: 31,109.22
Title, Tags, Fees: 633.40
Tax (6%): 1833.58
Total Financed: 33,576.20

Got 1.73% over 72 months. Pretty happy with the deal, might have been able to do better but got around 13.5% off sticker.
