How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

Something still doesn't add up. Richmond's sales tax rate is 5.3%.

Your negotiated price on the purchase agreement is 32069.54. 5.3% sales tax would put you at 33769.23. Add your other fees and you're well over 34k.

So lets say they calculated Sales tax off with the purchase fee included, that's 34290.46 still not including your other fees.

I'd like to know how you paid only 4% sales tax. Also interesting is that it's listed as a Title tax, not Sales tax.

I then looked up the dealer site.

New 2015 Toyota 4Runner For Sale | Henrico VA

They have a 15 SR5 MSRP at 36430. Online discount they list it for 34930. You claim to have got them down to 32069 which is almost another 3k off. No trade, paid cash (so the dealer didn't get a kickback from a local bank or Toyota Financial).

Sorry, something still doesn't add up but i don't care anymore.

Sorry, I can't help you anymore with your concerns. I posted my numbers, then a picture of the actual purchase order.

Anyway this post is for general use by the forum community, not to start an argument for no reason. My post is just like everyone else's, I'm offering info that people can look at for fun or use to help them make an informed decision about what they should pay for a similar 2014 SR5.

Last point I'll make is for everyone who is nervous about going into a dealership. You can probably get the deal you want, and certainly never have to overpay. Hows that? Be willing to walk away from the deal. Let me say that again, be willing to walk away from the deal! A lot of dealerships have ruthless salesman that are way better at negotiating than you might be. So my advice would be this.

1) Check the prices on True Car for your zip code

2) Come up with a absolute maximum number you would pay ahead of time. Its critical that you stick to this no matter what. If the price is over what your comfortable paying than thank them for their time and walk away.

3) If paying cash, negotiate the price backwards. Start at the final number (car+tax+fees=final number) and only discuss this amount. Salesman like to quote numbers and get you to agree to a deal then at the last minute add on more fees that are "non-negotiable" So the price you thought you had agreed on is not the price that shows up on the buyers order your signing. As long as the final number is within your range, it doesn't matter how many fees they charge or how they write it up.

Thats pretty much it. Hope that helps.

VA tax is 4.03%, he got a killer deal.

In my opinion OTD price means nothing when doing comparisons. Someone who purchased in Oregon will be different than someone in Cali.

2015 SR5 4wd in Norcal
Attitude black
Navi
Third row
Running boards
Cross bars
$33,500 negotiated price
$37,450 was the sticker price iirc

I paid 40,500 plus tax/title/fee/extra insurance (which i can add up if you want me to). I would have paid 50k for it. I'm happy, I can afford the payment and I look forward to another 10 years of wheeling/adventuring!

Another satisfied customer

Got mine yesterday....

Had to drive a little over 100 miles. Local dealers could not give me the price & truck I wanted.... Meh. They (2 separate local dealers) tried unsuccessfully to get the 4Runner from the dealer I ended up buying from. This color combination and model was hard for me and the dealers to find in a reasonable distance.

This is all I really wanted...
2015 SR5 Premium 2wd Magnetic Gray
3rd Row Seat

All this was just icing for me...
Carpet Mats
Phone Charging Kit
Tinted windows
Pin-striping
One touch interior (or something like that...allegedly to make the interior more stain resistant and easier to clean. Included on the deal)
Full tank of gas

Truck $34,166
Tag/Title $39
Tax $300
"Dealer Fee" $399
OTD $34,904

FWIW, I drove from Charleston

Does this seem like a decent deal:

2015 TEP
$43,000 MSRP
$39,500 +TTL (9% off msrp)
$24,500 for my 2012 4runner SR5 4x2 w/ 47,000 miles.

Private party on my vehicle is roughly $26,000 and trade in is $24,500.

I can probably get another $500-1000 on my trade, but I think I'm as low as I can go on the TEP.

Not sure where your from, but sounds okay. Better price than I got =D

Having a 4x2, I would take what they offered and RUN to get the 4x4 papers signed!

I'm currently talking to dealers here in SoCal looking for a 2015 TE w/KDSS and Nav. So far it seems inventory is pretty limited. The best offer i've recieved thus far is:

MSRP = $38,880
My Price = $35,400+TTL

This is before any trade-ins, etc. The deal/offer is much lower than others i've talked to, but requires I order the vehicle. I've done that in that past and i'm willing to wait.

Do others agree this is a good deal or you think I could do better?

I hate ordering the vehicle unless I make sure I get EVERYTHING I want. Just make sure you can get what you want with the same price. I would make them throw in a lift also... =D

I would most definately order it exactly the way I want it. One of the keys for me is making sure I don't get charged for all the stuff I don't want! I've ordered cars in the past so i'm comfortable with the process given the price is right...

I'm currently at $39,651 out the door on a 15 TE with KDSS and rigid running boards.

Original MSRP $39,225
Truecar MSRP $35,749 dealer came down to this.

taxes I believe are at 8.1% plus some other crazy tax which is 16.25% of that 8.1% which is then added together. Which by my calculations is roughly $3,365.

My target was $39,500 otd, which after I remove and sell the rigid running boards that I don't want, I should be below my target price.

It's also being delivered, so I should have it by next week.

Your not going to buy a Warrenty?

thought about it, they were asking $1400 for a 7 year/100,000 warranty. Which isn't much and it's a good piece of mind. But for every vehicle I have ever owned (this is my first toyota), parts typically don't start going bad until hitting 150k and definitely the 200k region.

Also, just got home from the dealership and paid $39,400 otd for a Nautical Blue Trail with KDSS.
