Purchased 2015 Trail yesterday

2015 Trail 4x4 Base - (Magnetic Gray) No KDSS
I live in Houston, TX and couldn't get the dealerships to move low enough on price for a Magnetic Gray Trail, so found one at Toyota of Dallas, flew up and drove back.
MSRP on this vehicle was $38,942
Options: Premium Carpet Floor Mat set incl cargo mat, Etune Premium Audio w/ NAV and App Suite, Dealer VIP Pkg (Solar Plate window tint- Including Front windows, 3M Protection Pkg..clear door edge guards,clear door handle guards, Vehicle protection pkg, Nitrogen in tires).

Paid $34,702 plus TT&L.

I did have the dealership add Leather interior from Katzkin which was an additional $1295. I had them copy the SR5 Premium interior (Light Grey/Dark Grey 2-Tone seats) but had them do all the stitching in red like the TRD Pro and Trail Premium. I prefer the 2-tone and it turned out great with the red contrast stitching!

I submitted an offer through their website on the car for $34k, they called me back, then we finalized the deal over the phone after going back and forth for about 30 minutes. Ill be happy to share the Sales guys info if anyone is interested.

Will the car be there until then? In my experience these things sell fast! I saw a 4Runner around noon the day the dealer got it, and by 5pm it sold. It was a white SR5 premium with beige interior and 3rd row.

I had a deposit on 2 different ones just in case one fell through. If you can get 3k off the MSRP id say go for it!

What was the sticker price, or MSRP? What accessories did it have? On the Toyota site I find a cost of $45,010 with auto running boards and no other accessories. Looks like you were asking for a $2500 discount. Others have said here that they were offered $2000 off. What was the dealers counter-offer?

On the Toyota website "Build" page it shows Red or Blue colors are no longer available in the Limited. And they have a $1000 discount for 30 year anniversary that's only available with the Silver color. But they do show a 30 year discount if you select an options package, but the amount is not stated (same $1000 ?). It may be that the end of year options are narrowing down to what's in stock and what they plan to build before end of model year. :ranger:

You can try Cars.com or TrueCar.com for pricing info. You can shop the dealer's websites for the internet sales price. Also, Costco has a car buyer plan that will get you more off of MSRP and Invoice. Good luck.

Stick to it.
Paid 42,500. with carpet mat set, cargo bars and remote start added. Not best deal but got what I wanted and both happy.

42,500. is what the dealer got - any BS of theirs rolled into that. They also had to locate it and bring it in from somewhere. 12.5 down, 30k financed.
No sales tax in MT.
Title and reg. paid to state directly by new owner $279.

Made out better at 2nd dealer. $42.500, but they need to order the truck. I didn't want 3rd row or cargo tray and none were available in blizzard pearl. They're letting me keep my trade (2010 Limited) until new one comes in.

Probably could have gotten another $1k if I sold the 2010 myself but didn't want the hassle.

All I have been able to get is 1600-2000 or so off MSRP on the TEP's I'm looking at.

Of course they are all future allocations (or the random trade here and there from 200-500 miles away) as its a PITA to get KDSS and Blue or Red, so I have pretty much zero bargaining power.


I am in the same boat, and seriously considering skipping KDSS at this point. Probably will save me another 500 off MSRP plus the 1750 option. Its tough though, pretty much everyone says to get it.

Side note: $38,000 for Trail Premium with KDSS was the ballpark in the 30+ dealers I talked to all over the country. Main reason it is rare to find. I really debated going for one without KDSS but in the long run I think I will be happier with getting it. I don't have garage clearance to do any lift or suspension mods. 2015 Trail without KDSS average was $36,392 + $299 "paperwork fee" = $36,691 in fact the dealship 3 miles from me have a silver 2015 TEP without KDSS on the lot. I hate they offer the option at all!!

I am seriously considering skipping KDSS at this point. Probably will save me another 500 off MSRP plus the 1750 option. Its tough though, pretty much everyone says to get it.

And as I said above, I cant seem to get that extra 1k off the TEP with KDSS you got.
