How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

The car market is crazy right now. I bought my 19 ORP with a few add ons (rubber mats, cargo cover, etc) for $36.5K OTD with 3mi on the ODO last October. I was recently offered $40K by a dealership that cold called. Had I not liked it so much, I probably would've said OK. However, after going offroad a few times and making a couple of trips in it, it is most definitely not for sale.

It definitely seems like the demand for 2020s has surpassed the current supply. Enjoy that car for me!

We went looking for a new ORP today and stumbled on a 2018 cavalry blue pro sitting in the back lot fresh off trade. 17k miles and in perfect condition. After talking them down $400 (they know what they have apparently), we agreed on $42,600 +++. Thoughts? We absolutely love the color and know it'll hold it's value nicely, but it's still tough to think about dropping $45k OTD on a used 4runner.

That's... insane. I guess people really love that color though!

Used market is hot!!! After I read your post I went to carvana and got a $34,300 offer on our '18 SR5P with 30k on it. We paid $35k for it almost 2 years ago! I might look into a new TRDORP if I can get 10% off or more. Thanks

Agreed! I bought my 2019 Limited 4x4 back in late March of 2020 when nobody was buying. Got it for $39k out-the-door. In Missouri, we pay taxes at the DMV when we title our vehicles. Kelly Blue Book is showing it's worth $43,880 Private Party. Crazy! I figure I could get at least $41k for it right now.

Looking to pick up a 2020 SR5 4x4 with little to no options.

I have OTD offers for $37.6K and $38K after haggling via email. To me, this seems a little high but its hard to tell with this market. If I could get 35K OTD, I feel like this would be a good deal.

Any insights here?

$45k out the door for a '20 ORP with KDSS and moonroof. 5% discount off MSRP before the rebate. No idea if that was a good deal or not.

PSA, check your tire pressure if you get a new one from the port/factory. My tires were at 54 PSI, drove them 300 miles home before checking :nono:

My tires were around 55 PSI from the factory as well. I drove ~100 miles before my first trip to the trails when I aired down. I was pretty shocked.

Anywho - I paid 39,000 before TTL for my 2020 Black ORP, blacked out badges, all weather mats, no KDSS, no moonroof

That's 8.5% off sticker. This seems relatively fair.

Not buying the whole "inventory is short, 2021s may be delayed" claim. Sounds exactly like the smoke you'd expect to hear from dealers late in the model year. All the dealers I've looked at have plenty of inventory, and it only seems to be growing.

Anyone else notice a ton of AG TRD Pros hitting the lots?

Agree.. when I was out shopping I had a couple dealers noting 'inventory' they were claiming to have but was actually currently on a ship making it's way over. One showed me a pretty long list of 4Rs that were in route.

And a happy welcome to you too. By my math (38,001/43,347) I paid 87.66% of Sticker (that is manufacturers sticker, no dealer add-ons like $400 Nitrogen or similar). That was 12.23% off. Tax, title and fees were about $900 total.

I felt I did good. Now, get off my lawn!
