How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

What I don't like about it is the match to the factory tinted glass.... the tint the dealer uses is slightly greenish, vs. gray / black.

Keep in mind that the greenish tint you're describing comes from the factory. I'm looking out my stock driver window right now, and there is a green/yellow tint between that and the open window.

So the color you're noticing is a combination of the Toyota factory tint and the applied aftermarket tint.

Dealer added "package" to hide over MSRP pricing?

Close to putting a deposit on a 2022 TRD OR Lunar - due march 15th.

MSRP with "options" and wild discount is $44432. They have a dealer "package" that is added on at 900 that includes tint and a flashing tail light... not sure what else, but those are the highlights. Seems "OK" deal but would really like that dealer package skipped. Anyone having luck getting that left off? Feels like markup over MSRP to me with trivial things included so they can say no, it was for XYZ.

Already had them drop the XP Predator package @ 3399, but so far they wont drop the skid plate or safe. Have another call in the AM to see if we can iron out these differences of option. I feel like if I push too hard or threaten to walk he would just wave with the current market.

thanks

Three types of options/extras - factory, port-installed, and dealer-installed. Given that the 4Runner is due March 15th it's already built or in the process of being built, in which case the dealer can't change the factory or port-installed options. Your only negotiating point is the options which are installed by the dealer after the vehicle arrives on their lot.

Good luck!

That's interesting - he has said they have removed all the port install options ( i assume port installed as they are listed on the toyota.com website as options) and added some others for me. Basically getting me to what I want. $45032 OR lunar rock. But they are still $650 + 150 extra doc fee (830 total) higher than my next verbal deal. They are also indicating that the trade is required to make it happen which gets rid of my "out".. if they try to reduce trade, I sell to someone else.

Paid 2k over MSRP from Findlay Toyota in Vegas last Wednesday for Off Road Premium no KDSS. Market is super tough out here. Waited a month after deposit.

Just curious if anyone here has had any recent experience buying a new 4Runner from Fred Anderson Toyota in Raleigh North Carolina. Are they selling way above MSRP? How was your dealings with them? Thank you.

They were asking market adjustments.

I've bought a few new cars over the years (not as many as others on here) and I've never had a dealer willing to remove port/factory installed options. Feels like they're feeding you a line, or prepping for a bait and switch (waiting until you're in the showroom to complete paperwork and a "Oh, sorry we said they're removed. Turns out we can't do it. So sorry you already walked away from the other dealer's offer. Did you want our 4runner now?")

Might try getting it in writing from them. They'll resist, saying you'll take the offer somewhere else. Let them know you just want to be sure you understand their offer, etc.

Good luck!

really good point....... I have had audi's with similar (greenish ) tint that the shop seems to get right, meaning the consistency of the tone to match the back windows.... I do not want the front windows to be as dark as the back and they have solved that for me in the past. I am going to take it to the shop that did those cars and see if there is a method that will allow for a better match???? I will check back if i solve this.......so thanks for the comment!

If the car is the color you want, darn close to the spec you want, and the trade value is there than I wouldn't pass it up. I understand you are paying a little more, but is it worth the time and effort to do it all over again and wait for the next "deal" to come through that doesn't have a mark up? They'll sell that 4runner in 42 seconds if you don't buy it and they know that. You can always sell the safe and skid afterward if you really find you don't want it.

my Pro lime rush was delivered on Saturday...Dealer had no notice the order was even picked up by Toyota. I placed the order back in October...was expected to be 6 to 8 month or even longer. Dealer texted me as I was sipping my coffee early Saturday morning that it was there. I was able to place the order at 500 under msrp back in october. Only added option was the predator tube steps. did not even purchase the floor mats as I just pull them out for aftermarket all weather ones. Was also able to get 500$ over what I paid for my Mazda with 14k miles. Overall super happy. will pick up wed or Friday.

My local S.F. Toyota dealer adds a $3000 Dealer Adjustment to an ORP. I am working with another dealer 30 minutes who doesn't. I asked the S.F. dealer if the 3 grand "adjustment" was written in stone, and he said yes...all allocations coming in the next 30 days are pre-sold, and to put down $500 deposit (refundable) to get on their waiting list. Why would they drop the markup?
Still a Seller's Market, be careful

Nightshades haven’t been all that hot, apparently. I see a few just sitting.

I get the impression that people didn’t know exactly what they were. Depending on Corolla or 4Runner, etc the package isn’t uniform in trim level.

4Runner Nightshade is a blacked out Limited but Corolla Nightshade can still have cloth seats… it isn’t always positioned as a top line trim, despite being priced as such.

22 Lunar Rock ORP

My truck is sitting at prep center in Honolulu. Put 500.00 down late Dec. Got here direct from Japan on 02/11......pretty quick. But as stated earlier I think my guy just grabbed an allocated truck for Hawaii. I ordered TRD ORP, Lunar Rock.

Since the predator package is not an option here, I got black TRD wheels w/ aggressive tread, nerf steps, raptor gril lights, center console safe, glove box organizer and black out emblems/badges all in my garage waiting to be put on. Also got a Go Rhino hitch step, black. Should p/u tues/we'd.

Going from a 17 Charger RT....the roads on this island suck and my front end is trashed. Our roads frequently flood out and the side roads are impossible for the low slung Charger.. It will be used for patrol duties with Honolulu PD.

Will put down 3k plus 6k from trade in. Owed 11k on the trade in and walked away with more down for the 4runner. After 3 Hemi Chargers it is time for a change and I am pumped. From speed and performance to functionality and utility.......will check back soon...

PS.....forgot ....4runner was 47k and 3.5k for add ons from dealer for around 52k....financing 43k at 2.29%

Just got my white Orp last week...black wheel package, blackout emblems, kdss...exactly the config I was looking for. Only 'extra' was a $300 theft system that they have a blanket deal to sell with all vehicles across the chain (which I removed). So basically msrp, and a decent trade in value on my Tacoma. Just had to drive up to Cheyenne to the dealer. All in all, in this market, I'm darned happy.

Most dealerships in Colorado are msrp on all but pro's (and some are even msrp on those, but it's a 6-8 month wait). There's a couple that do over msrp in the springs, and one north of Denver that does dealer installed mandatory upgrades.

Maybe I'm 36 and turning into a princess now, but I was a little shocked when I got my TRD off road and it didnt have one, for the price the trucks are at I'm even more surprised the Limited doesnt come with one.

Been 6 weeks since putting a deposit on ORP

Anybody else? Estimated wait? I know it will probably be ~3 months but am getting jumpy already.
MSRP dealer….but required $1K deposit.
They have had great customer service reviews.

Tons of variables here and you'll get lots of different answers. Length of the dealer's waiting list, your preferred config, the dealer's volume (which correlates to their allocation), geographic location relative to the port, etc.

I have my name on wait lists with two dealers for a Pro. I am the first in line for my color/trim and placed the deposits the first week of December. Still waiting for an allocation. One dealer is larger than the other, both haven't seen many Pros allocated in the last three months.
