How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

Sat on a waiting list for six months at a dealer in Salt Lake, Utah. Got my 2023 TRD Offroad Premium with no factory options and two port options (roof rack cross bars and all weather mats) for MSRP and $299 doc fee two weeks ago. Happy they found one without options, TRD Offroads and Offroad Premiums can get crazy expensive with options. Like, you could throw $8k of stuff on top of one.

Owned my 2023 Off-Road Premium for two months now. Had a 2 week wait and paid $48,784 with crossbars and all weather floor mats in Boulder, CO. $2k over MSRP, but couldn't find one less than that b/c of dealer options.

What crap did they have on it to justify running it up another $18K past sticker (since I think those are sitting right at about $58K MSRP if I am not mistaken).

Amazing thing is you can get a Pro @ MSRP in Phoenix with no BS added onto it if you wanted one right now I'm pretty confident (especially if you were willing to wait a few months).

Oh, that's the most ludicrous bit. Only extras were the roof rack and a $1k "ceramic coating" package. It was 100% a "we can get away with it" thing.

I just don't get how you can call it just a $2K market adjustment then. Sounds more like a $12K+ market adjustment to me . Likely the people who will overpay by $15K for a vehicle are not very good at math though .

I've seen a lot of games still being played by dealerships who are low on inventory. Land Rover/Jaguar has been an absolute nightmare on supply chain and my local dealer has this doozy on their lot right now (nearly $17K of crap added on):

Factory MSRP of this New 2023 Land Rover Defender 110 X-Dynamic SE is $84,685. Additionally, this vehicle has the following dealer installed accessories; (1) Nano Ceramic Window Tint at $1,999, (2) Diamond Ceramic paint, interior, and windshield coatings at $4,999, (3) Ultimate Package, full-front end paint protective film, $5,999, (4) OEM ROOF RACK, $3,699 - specific dealer warranty coverage applicable on these accessories, please ask for details. These equal to a $101,381 selling price, plus applicable fees.

I've thought about getting a Defender 110 to replace my Disco Sport but am seriously thinking about just walking away from the brand due to the combination of insanely expensive service, reliability and BS like this. Maybe a 2025 4Runner will look better next to my 2020 .

MSRP 48,863 and got the free chrome running board in the deal installed.
Considering it was one of 6 within 600 miles and the right color I figured I did okay. Hard to haggle with empty lots. Long ride to buy.

We live in CT, found this car in Michigan, paid MSRP. The only Lunar Rock that was available in the specs wife was looking for that didn't have some sort of dealer mark up. Car lands at the dealer on the 15th, should be ready for pickup/delivery by early to mid July.

$47,100 is exactly what I paid (MSRP+doc) before TTL on my TRD ORP. You basically got those sweet wheels and skid plate over me, for free!

If you don't mind sharing, what did they charge you for TTL and any additional fees?

The only reason I ask is because I was also looking at a car in Maryland, their dealer fees was an outrageous 2% of the vehicle value and an additional $500 processing fee so I was curious if this is a MD thing or just this dealership. I quickly said no and they kept telling me how great of a deal this is buying at MSRP. I'm paying $3000 less out the door for almost the same car. Insane.

Edit: the initial price they quoted me included a $3000 markup, I laughed and said absolutely not. A day later they tried to sell me the car at MSRP with their crazy TTL fees and said they won't go any lower.

No, no, my deal wasn't quite that good. I paid for the wheels ($943) and skid plate ($286.35) separately with free shipping from Fred Anderson Toyota online (via Toyota parts website). I kept my stock off-road wheels for future larger/winter tires since they're a half inch wider. I also bought the OEM black valences (front and rear) and OEM pro grill bits.

Wow, I did not know those parts could be had that cheap. I’m looking to buy the PRO grille and TRD skid plate soon enough. I also didn’t know the Offroad wheels are wider.

Ok so this wasn't a Maryland thing, just the dealer. What you paid sounds like the typical fees.

So we actually ended up cancelling this deposit because we found something closer in New Jersey and we don't have to spend the extra money to have the car shipped to us. They originally hit us with the $3000 mark up, but was able to talk them down and agree on MSRP.

$300 more than what we were going to pay in Michigan out the door due to dealer fees, but I'd say it's worth it.

Looking for a 23 Limited in central Pennsylvania. Have visited two dealers so far. Both are held at MSRP. Though I haven’t pushed the negotiation hard, neither have seemed to suggest they will budge and discount any lower.

If this is true, and the days of haggling up from invoice price and landing somewhere between it and MSRP are over, then I will probably look to find the absolute exact vehicle I want to keep the price a little more manageable. I’m not interested in third row seating and running boards which add almost $2k to the price alone.

I’ve found a few dealers who have Limiteds with options matching my interest on order and who are willing to pre-sell at MSRP.

Having bought my last 4Runner at around invoice price, I’m finding this new market hard to stomach.

Bought new 2023 Silver TRD Off Road Premium several weeks ago. Moonroof, all weather floor mats only options. Msrp $47,504. Paid this. No mark ups, no dealer trying to add extra stuff etc. Justin Masters at Ed Martin Toyota Noblesville, Indiana. Perfect service, pleasure to deal with. He found me exactly what I wanted, when many others dealers sayd could not , they were able to do dealer trade as was getting on the boat from Japan. Had to wait around 5 weeks. Put $500 down, applied to the sale.

So far really liking. Coming from driving Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators last 8 years, the 4runner rides so much nice, smoother, more energy, faster. . Transmission/engine feels so much tighter./better. Much better quality than Jeep. Plus find the interior controls much more user friendly.

Not sure where you’re at in central PA but I tried Aubrey Alexander in selinsgrove, Fitzgerald in Chambersburg, Hanover, and Heritage in Harrisburg.

Only one on the lot in those places. All others in build or transit. Many pre sold already.
