I have an '04 4Runner. Did rear brakes and rotors last week at 72,000 miles.
Was actually very easy. I used a c-clamp to push pistons back into calipers. I then put vehicle in neutral and turned each wheel by hand.
Both rear wheels turned with one hand, and would not spin freely. (Had some drag which I could also hear on the rotor, but relatively easy to turn by hand). With steady pressure, I could turn the wheel with one hand through a complete revolution. Is this normal?
Front wheels...I needed 2 hands and had to use more force than rears. And I could only turn maybe a quarter of a revolution. I'm thinking I have the dreaded stuck pistons. Will do that job in next week or 2.
Do the rears sound normal?
