How much did you pay for your 3rd gen?

Bought my 97 SR5 (236k miles) in 2010 for $4k. Most options included like sunroof, etc.

Currently sitting at 296k miles.
Require maintenance so far:
- driver head gasket
- battery
- tires
- needed a new injector

Got it all buttoned up after the hg issue. That was quite the job...

that is clean, almost "Billy Mays here with Oxi-Clean" clean. and definitely cleaner than mine.:cowboy:

Bought my 2002 SR5 for $1200, with 142k miles, from a family friend who only drove it on road his entire life. Needed some maintenance, so it amounted to about $1800 after. Still, great deal!

Summer 2012 I bought my '99 Limited 4x4 for $7200. OK and TX trucks seem to command a bit more because the market is still strong for them and typically don't have rust issues/are well kept. 150k on odometer. 2nd owner, been in Oklahoma its whole life.

Have about 175k on it now and runs better than ever!

Don't worry, it's a 6 year loan.

just to be clear, borrowed 4800 that will be repaid over 6 years at 25% annual percentage rate?
my math says you will have paid @ $12,000 at the end of the 6 years.
sincerely, not trying to be a noodge. do you understand basic APR/compound interest/etc stuff?
do you know a 10% annual return allows you to double your money in 7 years?
a 20% annual return doubles it in a little over 3 1/2 years?
unless you have exceptionally bad credit you should be able to secure a much more favorable loan.
are there any pre payment penalties? you may consider sourcing a new loan with a much lower rate, paying off the existing loan, and reducing your monthly payments substantially.
whats your credit card rate?

No, dude, the best part is I didn't have to put any money down!

it's your money, but damn... 25% is highway robbery. Down payment or not, that's way too much.

On subject, I paid $3,800 cash in summer of 2013 for my 4Runner. I had just sold my mint black on black '98 LS400 for $5,200, $300 more than I paid a year earlier. Both purchased in California.

I can't tell if it's sarcasm in those posts or not... 25% is ridiculous, my local bank is like 5-6% maybe now? I don't really keep up with it. I can't see myself ever making car payments. I like to pay cash, even if that means they are a little older. That money you save on the interest and avoided depreciation can go into making the vehicle unique and cooler.
