How much did you pay for your 3rd gen?

3 months ago paid 4500 for a 2001 4wd SR-5. 265k fixxer upper ( ran rough) otherwise pretty straight. Gray cloth interior. Gambled on it, lucked out...just needed a coil and plugs but still has 420 code but misfire code is now off.
now to start fixing and modding rare to see any good running 4runner up here for under 5k....2 available now...one at 7800 and another at 6500

Not many here in Ohio are still on the road. I get exited when I see a 3rd gen pass by.

bought in Dec 2020, $4k 1999 SR5 4x4 220k from 2nd owner, zero issues, runs like a top, Interior 8/10, Body 6.5/10, Rust is minimal at best.

New to forum and 4runners

Had a 2003 Tacoma TRD with factory Supercharger for years, sold it because I moved from CA to CO and it was not 4WD, now looking at 3rd Gen 4runners here in CO(the MolsonCoors brewery I worked at in CA closed, work transferred me to the Coors Golden, CO brewery). After 3 feet of snow last March I need a 4runner. Most here are in the 7K-12K range. Does this seem normal fro 3rd gen in CO?

Picked up this 2002 SR5 with 161k in January 2021. Paid $4900 and previous owner did WP/TB new wheels tires, bumpers, radiator, shocks/springs & installed back up camera. :whoo:

$5000 for a 98 limited with e locker and 220,000 miles. It was owned by a mechanic who bought it with a salvage title. Looking underneath and driving it finished the deal.

Last year (June, 2020) I paid $7,675 for a 2002 Limited Edition w/ 137k miles.

In great condition, but did a LOT of maintenance and upkeep since it is my daily driver.

Bought this 2002 SR5 2wd almost exactly 1 year ago with 133,000 miles on it for $7,000, nearly bone stock and well taken care of. Haven’t been keeping track but probably dropped around $3,000-$4,000 in mods and parts.

i paid $7000 for my fully loaded 97 sr5 4wd in november 06. it was in great condition but had 160,000 miles on it

Still trying to figure out how this site works and I’m too newbie to start a thread. This is helpful. I’m going to be selling my ‘97 sr5 4x4 manual transmission soon and am doing research on pricing, etc. I’ve had her 18 years and hope for a good home. I don’t work on my own car though so time for her to move to a more capable owner.

Question: a little rust starting at the roof rack and window. Something I should just disclose so the buyer can fix as they see best or something I should try to fix first? Other than that my girl is super clean, runs great and :’(. I know it’s time to move on but sad at the same time.

I paid $2500 to my dad and paying their home internet bill for the '02 SR5. All I did was to it was change the oil to Synthetic, changed water pump, timing belt and radiator, swapped the stock 15's for Taco 16's and threw in an Alpine iLX-W650 and A JL Amp and sub. Next will be removing the step ails with chrome bars, fixing the rear wiper and convert the 12vold adapters to USB charging ports
