How much did you pay for your 3rd gen?

I paid 10,500 for my 1998 limited. Yea, I know it was a bit over bluebook, but it had only 38k miles. This thing is pretty much in showroom condition. I honestly don't think anyone ever sat in any seat besides the drivers seat. When I took it to the dealership to get looked at (and a 4wheel alignment) the mechanics said that the car was as clean underneath the car as the rest of it...like it was never even driven in the rain. That was funny, cause the seller told me that "I've only driven it in the rain once or twice"

Dude I am jealous. Like I posted above, got my 2002 SR5 4x4 with 82,500 on it for $12,500. Granted, I wanted black, and was willing to pay a premium for it if need be, but this is a SICK ride.
Did it come with those rims? If not, please PM me the model, I gotta have em.

I agree, sick looking truck. Those are 2001-2002 Limited/ Sport Edition wheels that were either painted or powdercoated black

Well that's fantastic, I always wanted to know what my stock rims would look powdercoated, now I'm getting it done for sure.
Sorry to go off topic everyone.
I bought my 98 SR5 for $5300, but I knew it needed some work. New tires and some axle work added about $1800 to that tab. Plus tomorrow I am getting the timing belt serviced(which I knew I would have to do) so there will be more thrown onto the final tally.
Hopefully not much more...

I bought mine in May of 08 for 9,600. It was 10k even with tags, title and insurance. We got them down from 12k. I think it was a great purchase!
'97 SR5, 4x4, V6, 5speed, E-locker, factory leather, moonroof, optional bigger brakes and tires, premium stereo, etc.

I didn't care for the 4th gen, mainly because it had less headroom than the ol' '97. And having test driven the 5th gen in SR5, Trail, and Limited, I have to say I'm disappointed in several aspects of those.
I guess I'll be driving the '97 for some time to come.

i feel that way about almost all of the newer suv's they just don't look like a truck they look like girlie/soccer mom jobs and just don't feel rugged, you know what i'm saying?, it's like i want a vehical i can chuck my climbing gear in the back of and drive where ever i want to go and not worry about it, i don't want a f-250 job either, i having nothing i really need to tow,i don't live or work on a farm, and i don't have spikey hair and douse myself in axe body spray with my lifted pick up truck mall cruiser , the 3rd gens just still look the best to me, what's with everything having to look like an aerodynamic turd now a days?...yeah starting to rant... you get the point, good choice on the 3rd gen runner!!! lol

I paid $15k for my first 04 in Feb 09 that got totaled in Oct. I replaced it a few weeks later with another 04 SR5 (leather, moonroof, 2wd, 65k) for $15,300. I bought my 97 Limited the beginning of Dec 09 for $3,000. It has 216k & needs a little work,mainly cosmetic interior stuff & was begging for a good cleaning. Hopefully they both last because I love both of them!
Paid 8,900 for a 2000 Limted 4X4 with the sunroof auto dimming/compass mirror, and diff lock options. From what I can tell it was "optioned out" for the 2000 model year. The Runner only had 64K miles when I bought it (Aug 2009) and was a one owner (retired couple). They had all the service records and did all the work at the dealer. The thing is spotless. Based on what I have read here I feel like I got a pretty sweet deal.

That's a great deal! I paid a bit more than that for my truck which had 69k miles on it and was in pristine shape and I thought I got a fair deal.

I just bought mine a month ago for $6,000. '98 Limited 4x4 with rear locker and every option except towing. Everything works perfect except the antenna is stuck up and the CD changer in the back doesn't work. One rich cat owner, clean carfax. It had a 100K dealer service agreement, so everything is documented, even had the Tranny fluid replaced. New Michelin's 5K ago at the start of '09 as well as a new rebuilt engine put in then also! Something wacky happened to the motor at 130K, so I've got the receipts for the $3K new one! 135K now. Here's a couple pics
Finally selling my 1994 Toyota base truck, 5 speed, no A/C, no power steering, just a line a bed and a shell on it. Hope I don't miss the 22RE too much... Only 188K on it and never had a problem! Here's a pic of it, after the crows got done bombarding it last Summer! How much do you think I could get for it? (after a few car washes!)
