How much did you pay for your 3rd gen?

Better late then never.
I bought mine in March of this year, actually on my birthday which was funny.
I got kinda stroked, but I had a trade in so if thats factored in I got a good deal. Plus it was a local one owner which is not easy to find. Truck was listed at $8887 non-negotiable price. Traded in my 09' Nissan Frontier that they gave me $22,400 for (paid $22,200 brand new). I only owned $12,XXX on it so I was already ahead.
Ended up walking out of the dealer with the 4runner, newer tires swapped from my Frontier, and a check for $600 and change. Later found that the CD player didnt work and the wrong coolant (green) was mixed in the overflow. Dealer flushed the system and replaced the CD player free of charge.
Truck specs: 1999 SR5 4x4, 163k, one owner, 3.4, auto, E-locker, 4.30 gears, 265/75 Duratracs, etc.
Since I have added OME lift, Tundra TRD wheels, a bunch of prev maint stuff, tranny cooler bypass, debaded it, removed running boards and installed mud gaurds.

97 SR5 with 275K... beat up from the floor up... someone's hunting truck... dents all in the body, carpets basically gone, seats are barely there and if there are shocks they are broken or thin or however that stuff works... but I love her. $1200/

couple months ago picked up my 97 5 speed with 185k on the clock. runs awesome. TBWP kept up on so she's good for a while. got her for 5650, but put 750$ in tires withen 2 weeks. Got a killer deal in the PNW AND it's a manual. PO didn't know what he had.. I was the first to call and he said he had 5 others who called within an hour of me calling when I met him.

'97 SR5 with 130k from the original family. $5,500.
Bought mine in april of 2011.
96, SR5, Auto, E locker, 2 owner, huge stack of service records, 197,xxx miles.
Paid $4100.
Currently at 239,xxx and the only repair ive had is a leaking axle seal.
Will need to do water pump and timing belt soon but overall i am very happy 3 years and 40,000 miles later.

I found her on CL in the So-Cal area. It was a two owner truck owned by women both times. Every record was in the truck including the shipping invoice from Japan back in 98.
The second owner had a little accident and messed the front bumper up . A guy in my local area picked it up very cheap because I'm guessing she though it was a total loss or was told that anyhow. He did a quick fix to flip it. The guy had no idea what he had at all other than a 4x4 4Runner.
I gave 3600 for it, and felt bad for giving so little for it. I have done some needed maintenance on her and put a limited bumper back on her provided by a member hear. Added the Allpro rock sliders, seat covers, and a few other things and she has been nothing but solid for me. Thanks to Kraze, 4RunningDaily, DesertRunner and allot of others guys in the So-Cal area for helping get her to this point.
The truck has preformed great on and off road in SW MO. The multi-mode 4x4 rocks!
