How much have you spent on your T4R?

I look at it like this.

My gun taste are WAY more $$$$ than my 4Runner's will cost me. Even all built to the hilt they are way cheaper than the rifles I like to shoot. SOOOOO This is how I justify my building them, wheeling them and having two.

That 408 Chy-Tech is not cheap to own, or shoot. That and a good piece of glass to put on it runs around 4-6k.

More than I probably would want to admit. Especially if I count every set of tires that I have put on it over the last 13 years of daily driving. Two years and 30k miles ago, I sunk about $4k in it to do some repairs and maintenance. Family thought that I had lost my mind. Getting them to realize that it was way cheaper than a new one, just seemed to bounce off their skull and head out into the universe. The only one who gets it is my son, and he is selling his Jeep to get a third gen. I am quite proud of that.

If my trusty old steed was 4WD, Oh Lord, would I have a stack of receipts. :)

Thats basically how I look at it, plus I'd be afraid to take a vehicle I was making payments on wheeling.

I bought this Limited in Oct 2010 for 6k. It had about 165k on the odometer
A few days latter, I bought a wrecked 96 4runner for $600 but had to pay $40 to get it towed back to house.

I got my Downey off road Bilstein coil over lift kit and pan hard bar from it.
Parted the rest out for $3k

Got a free Sequoia Motor and sold my 3.4 motor for $1200

Spent
$175 for exhaust work
$150 for Eclipse Navaigation off forum
$200 for spidertrax
$80 for ghetto cold air intake
$40 for OEM floor mats
$400 for TB, WP, 2 Coil Packs, A/F Sensor, h20 sensor, Cat, Freon, AF and oil change
$100 for valve guide seals and valve cover gasket
$100 for electrical compents for the swap (relays, fuses ,butt connectors, heat shrink tubing)
$110 for electric fans
$75 for new battery (when I first bought it)
$125 for ricer radiator
$100 to shorten drive shaft
$80 to have AC line made
$100 for the AISIN manual hubs
$120 for new wheel bearings

So I have about $2375 in purchases
plus the $6000 for the 4runner
For a sub total of $8375
minus (the sale of the motor, the parts runner) $4200

So I have a grand total of $3,975 in my ride.

Sent scrap metal (steel, copper,and aluminum) to the recycler and got $300

Sold the 99 limited Tranny to Doc for $400 so the new grand total in my ride is $3,275.

lol I dont have receipts for little trips to Autozone and Lowes for randon bolts and cleaners but that would probably give me a heart attack.

$??? value of seats and all the interior parts I mined from my frame rusted 2000.
$139 to dealer to fix 4WD wiring.
$13 new power antenna mast
$75 sway bar links, bushings, bushing brackets.
$1,100 to welder to reattach RR lower control arm to frame.
$120 front brake parts
$186 front springs struts parts (2 monroe quick-struts)
$60 alignment
$450 in parts to replace timing belt/water pump etc, timing belt crank sprocket, Valve cover gaskets, plugs, wires, PCV, AC/PS/alternator belts.
$195 new alternator.
$112 new battery.
$3.50 compass for windshield
$72 new original floor mats.
$9 new PCV hose
$375 new left front ball joint, left inner and left outer tie rod ends.
$42 new parking brake bell cranks and drum brake hardware.
So, $3,601 not counting the used 2000 parts.
