How much is it worth

Keep the 4Runner, ditch the girl. Who picks a Mazda 6 over a nice 4Runner? Plenty of fish in the sea, especially ones that appreciate great vehicles.

I looked around at 3rd gen 4runners in the area for sale, and most are in the upper 7's to around 10K range, but they are almost all 2wd. The only 4wd limiteds I found were a 99 with 182K for $10,900 (dealership) and this one

Limited 2002 4Runner

All the rest were 2wd and most were base models. The cheapest listed is $7850 and it's a 2wd base model, and this one which is a 2wd sport and actually looks like a good deal

Sale this Sat... 1999 Toyota 4Runner

Makes me feel like what I quoted is fair to buyer and to me, If the interested party passes I'll list it at $8500 for a few weeks and see if I get any takers. It is nice to not HAVE to trade it in or sell it quickly. I had to trade in the ex's 2002 civic when I bought this 4runner, and I got mauled on the trade in.

Thanks for all the responses and I'll let ya'll know what I end up getting for it when I sell it.

Ha, I think she dislikes the Yota cause it was my ex-wife's vehicle.....:whip2:

We both commute about 30 miles each way to work, so the 35mpg her 6 gets (I drive a 94 Accord to work) is nice with gas at $3.85 around here.

She's not making me sell the 4runner, but I don't to let it sit out in the weather if no one's going to be driving it. As long as she doesn't start in on the Jeeps, atv's, or my old truck (Dad bought new in 83) I'll keep her.

Well, she's gone.....

I let her go for $8250. I felt like that was fair for both parties, and I think the buyer is a car guy who will take good care of it, so it should last a LOOOONNNNNG time. My GF was laughing at me because I was "now don't forget at 150K you'll need to change ATF, oil, air filter, and plugs, and only use Denso or NGK plugs!" as the guy was getting ready to pull out.
My 7 year old literally had tears in her eyes and asked if she could get a 4runner just exactly like that one when she is old enough to drive.
Sad day, but at least it went to a car guy and it will be driven again instead of sitting idle.
I'll probably be back at some point. More kids will mean another SUV at some point, and it will be another 4runner. Probably have to get a newer one with the 3rd seat (I love the 3rd gens, but wish they had more seating) but after this one I can't imagine wanting anything else.

Just checking in. Guy who bought my 4runner's still driving it (or at least his wife is) and it's still going strong. He put some 99 rear springs on it, and some Tundra wheels. Otherwise it's still ticking along just like it was when I had it. Gotta love a Yota. Things last forever.

Miss it. Might have to get another one one of these day.
