How much time do you spend washing/waxing your T4R

I spend approximately 2.5 hours. This includes washing, waxing and adding tire dressing and Rainx.

I usually do the interior on separate days because I don't like to work on the truck continously. Call it ADD if you'd like :angel:

I spend maybe another hour vacuuming and wiping down the interior.

How much do you guys regularly spend? I'm sure some of you spend more than a day detailing your rigs. I can't see myself spending that much time on it though.

It takes me a week to do a full detail on my 4Runner, doing a thorough job on everything. My regular wash takes about 4 hours. Yup, I'm incredibly anal about how clean I keep my car.

I thought I was anal, but I guess not. At least not by your standards.

Every weekend - wash/dry exterior 1.5 hours
Every 3/4 weeks - clean interior & windows - 2 hours
Every 6/8 weeks - wax exterior - 4 hours
Every 5000 miles - rotate tires and clean/dress wheels & tires inside and out - 3 hours

I also take it out and use the darn thing for what it was made for 2 or 3 times a year and get it really dirty.

Then I spend about a day cleaning up the big stuff and work on the details over the next week or two as I get the time.

When I am just giving it the weekly bath, I will spend about 2 hours on it, sometimes a little more and sometimes a little less. It mainly depends on the weather and my plans for that week.

When I am in full detail mode I will spend a good two full days on just the outside. There are again, sometimes it is more and sometimes it is less.

I also rotate my tires every 5k. While I have them off, I take'em out in the driveway and scrub the inside and outside. Then I polish the wheels inside and out. This helps the keep the brake dust shed off. I also dress the tires, inside and out.

As far as the inside, I can usually knock that out within an hour and a half.

To most people they see car cleaning as work, but it is relaxing to me. Some people garden......I detail. If I have had a bad day, it always helps me to go wash our vehicles.....unless I wash my wife's black car and discover a new scratch.:cursin: ...then my day gets worse.

I haven't waxed my 4Runner yet. However, It takes 1 hr vacuum and interior dressing, 1/2 hr wash, 1/2 hr dry (including cleaning door jam, engine bay), 1/2 hr tire dressing and cleaning the window. Total is 2.5 hr. I do it every two weeks.

I don't. I keep reminding myself it's a vehicle and it's going to get dirty. Every few months I pay $25 for a decent car wash with vacuum and I am done.

about 2 full days, but only once a year

actually, the 2 full days are me sanding it down, filling all the holes and then repainting it. the only time i actually "wash" my truck is when it's full of mud, and even then all i do is run it through a car wash. generally, i just let the rain take care of it.

i used to be anal about how i kept my cars clean, but after spending a couple of hours on a weekend the next time i drive it would rain or something and i'd get mad. now it's just a lot less stress for me to let it get dirty and not worry about it.

:iagree: I love working out in the garage. I try to wash mine every week, which takes about two hours. I put a new coat or wax/sealant on once a month, which doesn't add that much time to my wash.

Every 3 months, I do a full detail. I can usually complete the full detail in a Saturday.

i wash and wax mine once every week (usually on the weekends) and just spend the entire afternoon out there. usually by the time i'm done in july/august though, i need to take a bath too!

freakin' hot here!

oh, and then once a month or so i will polish and do paint cleaner and then the wax after washing ...

as far as the interior, mine stays pretty clean. once i got a bunch of mud all over inside, and cleaned it out with little hand wipes. use my dad's shop vac. to vacuum everything on the interior, and wash the rubber mats down when necessary.

the engine area only gets washed after a wheeling trip.
