how often is your back window rolled down?

Almost never ... only times have been when carrying wood that was too long and had to stick out the back. Noise, fumes and dust keep me from using it in spite of having a dog.

Never. I have disabled the motor and cleanly sealed the window tight.

Anyone in the rust zones will be familiar with the rusted out tail gate. A lot of dust, mud, salt and wet runs down that glass and into the cavity of the tail gate. Mine had an 1/2 inch of yuck when I first bought it. After I cleaned and cavity waxed inside the gate I disabled and sealed the window tight.

I think the roll down window is to blame for most of the rusty tailgates one sees.

here and there in the summer. Otherwise, not really. Plus i dont like how when it is rolled down. And if you go to close the truck. The window has a lot of play!

I keep it open or cracked as much as possible as the weather permits.
Exhaust doesnt come in with the side exit tail pipe & spoiler.
My dogs love it. It's one of the best features on our trucks.

Ya I like mine but it rattles a bit when down part way...not as much as when it's down all the way but even then it rattles some too. But I like it part way down and unfortunately that rattling keeps me from using it as much as I probably would. It's like there's some play in it.

Is that normal?

It's on my list to take apart and see if I can figure out why it rattles or where that play is, but maybe that's in the design or someone else has some ideas on that?

I had mine down on my tundra a LOT but had to make sure to keep the bed clean or keep it under 50 so trash wouldn't swirl into the back of my head and on the dash. All 4 windows and the back galss down = AWESOME!

The hatch on our 15 4runner hasn't gone down but once while driving because of exhaust. Reroute outlet to front of rear tire.. enjoy! Maybe cruising really slow it would be ok but at speed too much low pressure coming through the back with exhaust, dust and whatever else even with all 4 and the sunroof open.

I figured it was more of a grocery getter item since the limited doesn't come with the automatic hatch like the highlander.

Like other dog owners that chimed in, I keep mine down mostly in the summer when I'm traveling with my black lab, he loves staring out that rear window!

I keep mine down as much as possible when the weather permits! All the better to listen to the exhaust.
There's nothing better then rolling down all the windows and popping the sunroof on a nice 70 degree day :thumb3:

As often as I can, but that isn't very often [emoji23]
I love that it rolls down. I want a Tundra just because of that... and my wife is 100% with me on that too.
Maybe Ford will follow suit when I'm ready to buy a new pickup- that would really tickle my fancy.

HUGE selling point!

Living in SWFL I take every chance I can to enjoy the "6 window" treatment. It's like the top's down on a convertible :)

Only potential negative is noise on a busy highway or at high speeds.

Plus doggo loves it

Whenever the temp is more than 55° and less than 90° in New Jersey and it's not raining. That whole week...

Here in NE Florida, I have the rear window rolled down every time I use my 97 T4R, SR5. Lack of AC forces me to use 4-40 AC and with the rear window open...fresh air all the time.

I have it down 95% of the time here in SW Florida

Whether it's 40 degrees or 104 degrees unless its hot out and I'm heading to work or school cause I dont want to be sweaty all day. I dont even turn my A/C or heat on in the winter months and pray it works come spring LMAO

Nothing better than all 5 windows down and the sunroof open screaming down the highway with the radio blaring, tires howling and exhaust humming :guitar3:
