How to change the ATF for a 95 4Runner?

Recently I just purchase a 95 v6 4Runner with automatic transmittion. The previous owner never change the fluid for 6 yrs, and I found the ATF fluid level is pretty low. I know changing the ATF fluid is a very easy task, (as easy as engine oil change) but I haven't done this before. Anyone know how to change ATF, where the drain plug, and fill plug locate?

Ok.. found the drain plug and filling location (dip stick)

Just wonder, what kind of ATF should I used?

dextron 3 will work fine...6 quarts + or -...there is a plug on the xmsn pan

if the fluid hasn't been changed in 6 years I would change the filter to. All you need to do is unbolt the pan. The filters are cheap but cnaging it will keep the crap out of the tranny parts.

Any time you change the transmission fluid you should replace the filter and gasket, keeps it from leaking and prolongs the life of your transmission.

Although some Toyotas are weird, my moms Rav4 doesn't have a filter on it, and takes a special Toyota tranny fluid to boot

Thanks all. Just get it done last weekend.. as easy as oil change. I wonder why some place charging for $100 and just do the flush.

what kind of tranny fluid did you use? i was in the same situation. the previous owner for my t4r didn't change the tranny fluid. when i changed it the look and smell of it was awful.

I use Dextron III. It take almost 4.5 qt. to filled it up.

It come's apart about a foot up. I would change the o ring on the filler tube to.
