How to Change Your Plugs

Changed mine today. What a breeze, and a big thank you to the OP on this Forum and the Tundra one.

Couple of tips:

1) Make sure you use Electrical tape to secure the spark plug socket to the extension, it really is useful!

2) Be careful with the spark plug boot that fits inside the spark plug socket, it can come off and remain on the plug once you torque the plug in.

3) No worries about a fuel line, gently hand thread with the extension and you really will see how smoothly it goes in.

I did have to buy a torque wrench, but that is a-okay, because I changed my Accord's plugs too, so imagine the combined cost savings now and in the future!

When removing the plugs from the deep wells, I only break them loose with the ratchet then use an 8" long piece of clear tubing that will slip over the end of the plug to unscrew and pull them out. Then when installing the new ones I use the rubber tubing to thread them back in so they don't get cross threaded. The tubing will hold on tight enough to thread them but will slip off if you are cross threading. Makes the job very easy. Then I torque the plugs in once threaded all the way in.
