ive started a couple threads and had responses. the only way i can tell i have responses is if i search the thread, find it, and see if anyone responded. where does it show i have responses? in the user cp? thanks

You'll get a notification if somebody quotes you in the far upper right of your screen. You should get one from this post.
You can also subscribe to a post, in the "Thread Tools" pulldown, also upper right, when you're viewing the thread. In your user settings you can view your subscribed threads and set whether you want to auto-subscribe to threads you start or post in or whatever, and what sort of notification you want when somebody replies to a subscribed thread.
