How-To-Guide (TRD CAI) Installation

Just 87.

I havent seen the ignition advance tables or the tables for closed loop fueling authorities over global fueling to know how much of a benefit running 93 is. Heck, i dont even know for sure where the cross over point is on TPA and RPM to know when it switches from closed to open loop.

Im sure there would be some benefit to premium fuel, but i havent messed with it. I guess i could do a set driving loop on 87 with a hand calc on economy; then switch to premium for a couple tanks and do the same loop on a similar weather day. If there was a bump in MPG it would indicate adjustments to fuel trim and ignition advance.

nah.. just wanted to see if your claims were from running a higher octane.. my butt dyno tells me my car drives and shifts better on 91 but since youre on 87 claiming the MAF calibrator improves driving experiences makes me want to revisit the idea of buying a MAF calibrator again...

what octane do you run w/ the MAF controller installed?

Yeah i dont doubt that premium would be better. I wouldnt be surprised if Toyota’s power claims are based on 91 fuel.

Hills drive on cruise control is best i can give you for a claim. It doesnt go to third but a couple times along the route with it; disconnect the calibrator box and it hunts 3rd and 4th on almost every hill. Im a sample size of one, but im convinced it works. *♂️

Your usage relates to mine the best. I have no desire to run 91 octane. I'm simply looking for a improved driving experience and slightly improved mpg.
Thanks for your input.
