my mom had a old toyota corona (yes corona) when i was little and my dad tried his hardest trying to blow the thing up because we had got a new car. he even mixed water in the gas tank and the thing ran all of it through like a champ haha

Way back when I worked at a Honda dealership, I saw a 4Runner that one of the techs took for a test drive after working on it--only to realize that he hadn't put oil back in it first! Thing was still running fine--only God knows how!

During cash for clunkers, some of the locals that worked at car dealerships would have "races", pouring that stuff into the crankcase of two different cars and seeing which would die first. I have no evidence, but several of them reported the Toyotas nearly always lasted longer.

I had a friend in high school with a 91 p/u.....he rear-ended a stationary vehicle going almost 40mph. Truck looked like it had been to hell and back, all crunched up on the front-end.......he pulled the dents out as best he could and drove it home....and then to school......and then....and then.....
