I am getting ready for the same thing, alot of the guys suggest the confed 2/1 or the daystar kits. I see alot of them talking about wheel spacers and triming the fenders too. So to add to your question...do we need the spidertrax and to shave the fenders?
The easiest and most cost effective way is to install a small spacer lift in the front only. Most guys seem to be happy with a 1/2" spacer (gives 1" of lift) or a 5/8" spacer (gives 1.25" of lift) to give their 4Runners a nearly level stance.
I have the 1/2" spacer on mine and it looks much better than stock.

No, you don't need to put the wheelspacers on. Many prefer the slightly wider stance and improved looks. When you put the wheelspacers on you must do a minor fenderliner mod. Scroll down this page: [/COLOR]http://www.top4runners.com/ja/2007/wheelspacers.html
I agree. Think about and define "your level". Some define level as an equal amount of distance from the top of the tire to the wheel lip. Others think equal clearance from the rocker panel (F & R) to the ground looks best. Others just want a lot less rake. IMHO less rake or an almost level, when measured from the rocker panel to the ground, looks best. If you make the roff level it'll look like it's riding nose-up. I think 1-1.25 is perfect if you do the front only. This would be a good choice. This spacer provides closer to 1" rather than the .75" that's advertised. thanks,I agree,I don't want too much of a front lift,just want it to be up a little more on the front,I think this spacer will be perfect.:bluejump:

Have to agree with CJ3Flyr. A small spacer lift would do the trick, unless you have a reason to want to go bigger. I have the Toytec spacer he mentioned along with the stock front springs off a FJ Cruiser. I've not yet installed this, but it should yeild about 1.5" of lift in the front and level things out nicely. I just bought a 2007 4R SR5 and was wondering how hard the spacer would be to install. I am not the best person with tools, but I can follow instructions.
I love my rig, but just wish the front was the same height as the rear. I am currently running 265/70-16 and won't be upgraded tires any time soon. If I did I would probably opt to an inch taller at the most.

I finally got mine installed. It wasn't too bad, took me and another guy 4 hours to do mine. This was our first time. We'd studied the write ups, and it was pretty straitforward. Click the link in my sig to see my writeup. There is some good info about my experience with it, links to intall how to's, and pics. IMO 1 inch just isn't enough. I ended up with 1.5" and love it. I'd recommend an extra set of hands, but do your homework before hand (making sure you understand the how-to's) and you'll be fine.

So if i just install the FJC coils on the front of a 2007 SR5 it will level it out for the most part?

Just to add to the confusion - some of the leveling kits require you to dissassemble the front strut and spring assembly to insert a spacer. Some require dissassembly to install longer studs if you are using a top mounted spacer and some have stud extensions and a top mounted spacer.
Im leaning towards the extensions with top mounted spacer, has anyone had good or bad luck with this type of kit?

I used a 1" (2" of lift) spacer and the wheel well up front has 1/8" less than the rear, but the running boards are about 1/4" higher in the front than the back. If you look at it, the wheel wells will be seen and the gaps there, not so much the level of the running boards unless you're really looking for it. It really looks level now. Look at my signature for the pictures of this setup. Look at the pics in the 2" leveling kit thread and the 265/70 Kelly safari TSR's threads.

the v8's appear to ride a little heavier in the front too. i put the daystar 1" level kit in and got around 1 7/8" lift. i think it looks a lot beefier now. i'm also running wheels spacers. i didn't have to do any trimming or fender liner modifications.
To better understand what you're after start by measuring your truck from fender to the ground on all 4 wheels. That way you can get an idea of how much you need to lift the front to be level. Mine stock was something like 33.5 Front and 35.5 Rear. So you should be about 2 inches lower up front.
Most people aim for a little bit of drop or perfectly even at the most. In my opinion 1 inch to 1/2 inch rake looks good. Search a little of people that post before/after shots with measurements. Then you can get an idea of how "level" you want it and go from there.

What is your engine/drivetrain? That will also have an effect on what size lift you need. The v8 and 4x4 are heavier in the front and will need a larger size spacer.
