Here's something that I'd like to see, but I'm sure it'd take some doing to implement. When PMing, it'd be nice to be able to just click and choose off your friends list when creating a distribution list. Along the same token it'd be nice to be able to PM more than 5 people at a time.

This thread may have died. But I'll still continue to suggest ideas for improvement where I see it.
So here's the idea behind this one: How many of you have been driving down the road or riding around town or out wheeling when you spot a very nice modded 4Runner and say "hmmm, wonder if they're on the forum?"? But where to start? Obviously those "spotted" threads don't work and create clutter. They bank on the chance that somebody that actually opens the thread either knows or IS the person by looking at a quickly snapped photo if they can get one or a description given of a truck you may have only gotten a quick glance of.
Regional sub-forums are nice, but only if people know to use them and that they're there. What I'd like to see is a listing of members by state or region. Driven by members who voluntarily submit their geographical location for privacy reasons of course (maybe some sort of check box in the User CP). Could even be a sub-menu drop down off of the "garage" section. Like Garages by state (region). Hope that makes sense.
The "I'm Stuck and need help" thread is a great way of identifying members by region, but again, is only as good as those that choose to participate.

Yeah, we have been talking about a way to revamp that a little. I'm not sure what would be most beneficial since the regional forums are seldom used
I'd like some form of chat too. It's annoying to keep sending PMs to someone when you're trying to have a conversation in real time.

Not going to read through 20+ pages on my phone to see if it's been suggested, but one feature on the forum I'm on most(Nasioc) is the auto-resizing of pictures. It gives you the option to click on the bar at the top of the pic to show the original, but the default resize gives you a consistent width along the entire page so there's no random post that stretches the entire page and screws up the formating of the rest of the page.

Mine does that
I think admin just recently implemented a resizing option with attachments and the img code resizes automatically

I would appear you are correct. I must not have visited any pic heavy threads in the last month or however long it was implemented. I just went back and checked a thread where it was an issue and now it looks fine.Mine does that

I've been getting a lot of these errors and assumed it was the chicoms attacking the servers trying to duplicate T4R.

My new suggestion for making this site run better is changing the hosting.
Whatever offprem service provider is doing the hosting , well it seems like they can't keep up and more powerful HW is needed.
Either pay more for the next level of service or bring the website back on-prem with some strong in-house HW.
I get so many timeouts "server is busy" I just don't know what to do. It is really a game stopper as a user.

x2. I would gladly donate money to help pay for the server, that's what most forums do. With all the ads and users, I can't believe we can't get something that can withstand having a few hundred people at a time on it.
It's not like I have any right to ***** since I'm just some kid, but it's annoying as **** when a page takes 30s+ to load at a good time let alone at night when it's hard to read anything.
We have suggested a few times to have a premium membership that cost maybe 10 bucks a year (sort of like pirate4x4). That will generate income to have a better server and maybe access to exclusive forums for other stuff.

So, I love that this was implemented. I hate that the effort was all for naught since hardly anyone actually follows the rules. Almost every Marketplace thread I click on I get the urge to copy and post the "rules" into the next post. I just don't want to be, that guy...
I guess you could start deleting threads that don't comply with the rules...
