How to paint window posts

I removed my window visors today and my passenger side, rear window post didn't like the Goo Gone and the paint came right off. Now it's just metal vice black. Is there a good threat on here (already searched) on how to paint the window posts between the front and rear window?

I would think just lightly sand with fine sandpaper, tape it off with painters tape and use a flat black. Does that sound about right????

You can also do a vinyl wrap. BigFishAllDay did this to his 01 and it came out clean. I plan to do this eventually as well as mine is a bit faded.

It's no different than painting anything else that's metal. Sand/scuff, clean and degrease, mask, prime (if bare metal) and paint. That's it in a nutshell. The web is full of metal painting specifics.

You're better off with a satin black. Flat doesn't hold up worth a crap to the elements and you'll be back to bare metal in no time.
