[HOW-TO]: Sealed HID In Factory Fog Lights

Two suggestions as I run 6k HIDs in my fogs but have been too lazy to ever take a shot of them and post it:

1. Move the ballasts into the engine bay to prevent them from getting wet. I think they make longer wire extensions.
2. For the other hole not used on the cap to pass the wires through use it to extend a breather tube into the engine bay to release heat. It will help your bulbs last longer.

I see no reason to have to extend the breather from where it is now, It won't dissipate heat any better and as of right now no water gets into there (river crossing may be a different story lol)

got some updates here, so the xentec ballasts turned out to be garbage and so is their customer service, imagine that lol. Well long story short the ballasts went to hell so im buying a vvme kit (very very good for an ebay kit) and just going to run the ballasts from that kit with the xentec bulbs. The reason being that im pretty sure the vvme bulbs will not fit into the housings with out wires getting crushed....

I can after I get my new ballast lol I suggest, just buying the cheap/short bulbs separate from good ballasts, and not a entire xentec kit on that note.

Back to the subject of the cutoff though, Ill just say it is no where as neat as a TRS retro but very comparable to the hella micro de.

Can you post a pic. Of how it looks like from the driver seat? If possible just the fog lights? I may just convert the fogs to his and not the main headlight. I don't want to Clare without projectors.

Got a bumper and don't need my fog lights any longer, so who wants them!? Unfortunately they don't have HID in them any more but luckily some awesome guy made a write up on how to do it

I know most people ask about 100+ for the projector fogs so I was gonna throw them up for about 90. Im flexible though.

Well first off I don't really think putting HiD bulbs in a stock nonprojector housings is a good idea ever. That being said you should have a 9003 bulb and because of that you can reuse the stock rubber bulb covers. Just cut the washer provided off because it is not needed.

If it's the bulb, I'll go another route, but if it's the wiring, I am not afraid to drill through the cap to make the wiring work and then seal things off. Just did a quick search before ordering a VVME HID kit and this thread popped up. Let me know what about the VVME's didn't work if you would. Much appreciated.

The back to of the bulb was too long for the housing. The whole goal of the project was to make sure it was water tight so I didn't want to cut a hole to fit the bulb.

I thought I saw TRS offer a shorter H3 bulb that was called the H3c.

Have you any experience with that? Cause those will excel over any eBay stuff if they fit

nope I didn't even look at TRS stuff because I was broke at the time. The ebay stuff is "good enough" for fog lights.

The bulbs do play a small part in the output, but are not the whole deal. Also I looked at the TRS H3c and there is on way it will fit in the housing.
