how to tell if my yota has lockers

so ive got this little button on the left side of my steering wheel on my 01 sr5, that has a picture of 4 wheels all connected together something like this

k well it works when i type it but not when i post it. the button looks like it has 2 wheels barely turned on it, with something connecting the front and the back, with an x in the middle of the whole thing

wondering if this means ive got something special under my car.
i will take a picture of the button tomorrow.

but also, what does this switch exactly mean, and how can it be used?

It is the center differential lock. To be honest I'm not sure exactly how it works but I believe it splits the power 50/50 to the front and rear differentials. It's not a locker persay but can come in handy. Hopefully someone else will come in with the when/where/how.

You've got an 01 so the button you describe is the center diff lock switch. When you push your 4wd button on the shift lever you engage your full time 4wd system, your center diff allows slippage between your axles, this allows you to be in 4wd under any conditions, even dry pavement. If you lock the center diff you eliminate the slippage and have a traditional 4wd system and should not operate on dry pavement. You should also notice when you lock the center diff your VSC Off Light comes on and only your TRAC system still works.

now i know there was a thread on how to make an on off switch, but is there any way to turn traction control off?
