How to wire rock lights to come on at unlock and with a switch?

But could you dumb it down a bit more.

I understand tie into the dome light. Do you run that tied-in-wire to the relay?

Also, would that mean that every time you turn the dome light on, the rock lights will turn on also?

1. depends on your application, most folks who've done this tied into positive and ground wire only but others who've posted here suggest a relay. Maybe one of them will do a sketch and post here for theirparticular use i.e. switch etc.
2. not sure about that as I haven't seen this mod in person, maybe someone who has done it can chime in

Have you made any progress with the install? I'm getting ready to do my running board lights and really liking the "pod" look of those lights i've seen on other vehicles! I'm also looking at the bushman upgrade as numerous folks here have used it.

I haven't, I've been sick and busy with work lately. I'm hoping to get around to getting the block wired up this week. Rock lights will be in the coming weeks probably.

I haven't done much more work to the 4Runner as of recently. I prewires my fuse box and got some stuff ready but I just put it on hold until I quit traveling every weekend (wedding season). There is a new thread that came up the last couple of days where the guy outlines how to do it. Can't remember the title just go back through the last few pages.

we tie them into an aftermarket alarm module like Compustar. If client is doing aftermarket fob then they get full control, both with unlock and AUX channel. So with unlock, we time them ON for 30 seconds. And when AUX channel is pressed they stay latched.

I started looking into this again. I think I found what you are referring to through alarm installs; PLUG 2B pin 18.
