How would you mount these KC Hilites Pro6 lights?

I just picked up a pair of KC Hilites Pro6 6" LED lights to mount on my Shrockworks front bumper. Was getting tired of the severely lacking stock lights when off-roading.

I was hoping to mount them in the two pre-existing holes for that purpose on the top center of the bumper. Unfortunately, though, there is not quite enough depth in front of the grill there for the lights to drop fit right in.

The Pro6's have a 3/4" ball stud mount that can angle forward and backward quite a bit. I've looked for universal light riser brackets and the like, but not having a lot of luck. I think I need to get the light up and/or forward in order to get the light to fit right.

The holes in question are the two oval holes about 6" to either side of the Toyota emblem.

Ideas?

Maybe you can fab up (or have someone do it) a U-bracket? Mount the lights on the bracket, and make sure the strips on either sides are long enough to give you the clearance you need. Or, instead of a U-bracket, just have a plate made with holes drilled out to mount to the bumper, and holes for the lights.

Just make up a bracket to push them forward a bit. A little steel plate from Lowes and some stainless hardware should get you going. I could fab something in about an hour probably in my little garage workshop with an angle grinder.

Thanks for the great tips guys. I'm not always the first to dive into custom fabrication so initially I was hoping there would be some universal light mounting hardware that someone might point out that I had missed.

That being said, I think you're both right that I'm going to have to go the DIY route. The other option I'm considering is taking a Dremel and elongating the existing holes forward. I'm pretty certain there is adequate spacing there but I'm going to go out and do some measurements tomorrow.

I agree it's east to fab on the cheap. I can't tell the dimensions from the photo. But if you want to spend the extra use try these...

Mount to the top of your bumper bar and hang the lights upside down so their in front of your grill and out of your view of the hood...

If the lights have rock guards rotate them to read correct...

Looking at the existing holes above the bumper, the Dremel idea could work, depending on how deep the lights are. Another thing that could work is making yourself a Satoshi grille, where the intake part is recessed as opposed to your current grille, which is mostly protruded. I know not everyone is into the Satoshi grille look, but I’m a fan of it.

They don't give you much room at all there by the looks of it. If I had to guess those holes are for an LED bar, I can't think of any round lights that would fit off the top of my head.

Shrockworks definitely offers several different Baja Designs (and previously PIAA) lights as an option for the top. Not sure what the dimensions of those lights are, but I also wonder if the previous owner who installed my bumper might have installed it a fraction of an inch tighter than spec?

I don't have that bumper or lights. Just some thoughts or considerations.

- The type of light or beam pattern. Location matters for performance.
- Don't want to significantly obstruct other lighting
- Protection. There would be added protection if within the hoop, as opposed to outside it.
- Obstruction of airflow to the heat-exchangers, like A/C condenser, radiator, others added..

Similar to the KC lights bracket option but these fit up to a 2” diameter bar. I have the same bumper but currently have an led light bar but was looking at these for a mounting round lights.

Well, I bit the bullet and purchased some KC HiLites Tube Clamp mounts. Wasn't sure exactly how I would configure it but I wanted to experiment with them and the lights in hand.

I'm liking the outcome so far. I was able to move the lights out away from the grill just a hair and still keep them within the center hoop for protection.

Night pictures are of lows, highs, then HiLites.

TBH I don't even know what they are. I bought the truck last spring and it's what came with it. They do seem a little whiter more like a silver star and there is a blue reflection to them in daylight just looking in through the glass. They are not bad, but still aren't great at all in lowlight woods and off-road trails.

I ended up going the route of a Satoshi Grill. You were spot on! As soon as I did that I have tons of space to mount the lights!
