There's only so many 3rd gens to go around!!!! Every year less of them so they should go UP in value!!!!

I think I'd rather have stock IFS than a leaf sprung SAS like that. Its just another one of those things that gets hyped out of proportion and everyone thinks they want one.

I used to wheel almost every weekend with a guy with a leaf SAS 3rd gen on 35's (I'm IFS on 285's) and I went everywhere he went and in way more comfort. Unless you're doing huge boulder fields on the reg, IFS > SAS.

No comparison, sas does wayyy better on the rocks and strength.

Links arnt that much better in my opinion.

I have a friend who did a SAS leaf spring to a Chevy s10 4 door truck. We went wheeling about 5-6 times after his swap. Hour or less into the trails. First day. Broke u-joint in the axle. Another day I had to winch him up a huge hill, because 15 mins into the trail. He broke front u-joint in the axle. And the rear blew out the spider gears. ALL AT ONCE. He fixed it by getting chromoly axle shafts. Ok. Back to the trail. After 2-3 failed ujoints. Breaks his driveshaft less then a hour into the trail. Fixed that. Went and got a jeep bumper. Modified it to fit with a free Warn winch. We decided that after all the fixes and finally his own winch. That we would leave my 4runner at his hous and just cruise in his truck. 30 mins into a trail. Front pinion bolt came lose, bearing fell out and the seal. WHILE WE WERE STUCK IN MUD. Go to winch our selfs out. We find out why the Warn winch was given to him for free. The motor was shot on it. IT BARLEY PULLED HIM OUT. Did I say the front pinion bolt was gone in the mud ? Along with the bearing and seal ? Got mud in the pumpkin and blew the gears. Drove it back 5mph. 15 min trail turned out to be 1hour driving back. So after a handfull of u-joints. Few driveshafts. New set of front and rear axle gears. When we got our selfs out of the mud. And when I saw the pinion bolt not there. The bearing missing and the seal. I COULDNT KEEP A STRAIGHT FACE. I'm sorry. But it was funny.

I swear man lol.

Wow was he on 44in boggers on a d44?
I have gone through the rubicon with 37s and stock rusty Dana 44 shaft with a spool in the front without problems

It's all about how you drive
I have seen a few chromo 60s snap just spinning a tire and dropping it

Everything brakes. Leaf and links have nothing to do with axle shaft strength.........

I forget what axle he has. I think the front axle is from a Jeep Wrangler. And he's running 35" swampers. But BALD. I guess it's still to much traction.

I love reading comments about how people perceive the value of 3rd gens [emoji23]
As if this thing should be worth more than a stock rig because it's solid axled
Also, of course it's in Scapoose Oregon [emoji23]
