Husky Liner vs WeatherTech

Which floor mats are the overall best? I recently purchased my 4runner and in the next 2 months, I am going to get new floor mats as I have stock ones that are torn from the previous owner in Colorado. From the forums, I can see that the Husky Liners are thicker and taller while the WeatherTech are less slippery. I am looking for a floor mat that will not curl. That is my main concern as I do not want to spend over $200 on floormats that do not last. I am wanting to do a footwell led mod along with the led interior light mod. Thank-you for any input as this is my first thread.

WeatherTech makes two types. Floor liner, and all weather floor mats. I have used the floor liners on my previous SUV and they work great. Durable, clean easy. They also came with my preowned 4R. Again work great. I can't speak for the all weather floor mats, but the floor lines you can't go wrong.

Just get whatever you find in the local classifieds.
Got my front weathertechs for $50
and my second row Husky (for a 5th gen) for $30. The 5th gen Husky don't fit super well, could probably use a heat gun session, but it fits damn decently.

HUSKY man here. Had them in both my vehicles since day one. I don't think you can go wrong with either brand.

I’m a husky liner guy. The newer model has nice floor anchors for the driver mode and I think they look nicer. I thought the ‘steel floor’ imprinting would be terrible but they were cheaper than WT when I first got them for my 04 and they actually looked great in person.

When I traded in my 04 for a 15, husky was my go to again. I felt they tried to imitate WT too much and it came out terrible. I wasn’t super pleased with the look or quality.

I traded in my 15 for another 4th gen a year later and went back to Husky and couldn’t be more pleased. They have changed the design a bit though. It used to be more tub like. Now I would say, at least for the fronts, it’s more WT style, so go with your personal preference.

If you don’t have the DD cargo shelf, then WT will be your only option for that. I could only find husky in that version and the fit was ok, but not great. I’ve got huskys in from and WT in the cargo.

I just bought a '04 that came with Husky liners. They are certainly thick and protect very well, but the sides had curled up on them. Just yesterday I went out and cut about 1" off of the curled up side and then took a heat gun to it to remold it more flat. I'm very happy with how it turned out and the fit overall is great.

I also had to make a cut on the mat behind the driver seat. Every time I moved the driver seat back, it would hit the floor mat and buckle it up. One little cut and now it stays flat even with the driver's seat all the way back.

There is still a slight lip all the way around in case I spill my entire drink. I also left a little lip in the back in case there is a lot of mud or water in the cargo area after a ski trip or something.

I had both. Had a bad experience with Husky liners, wouldn't stay in place. Long story short Husky made me a custom mat for my Prius to correct the problem. I liked them much better after that. I currently love my weathertechs. They fit my 4runner much better than My huskies fit my prius. But My brother has weathertechs in his silverado and they will not stay in place like the ones in my 4runner. It depends on the vehicle. For the 4runner I would recommend weathertechs, unless it is an issue to have a hole in the mats for the stock mounting hooks. It isnt for me since I bought them to keep dirt and gravel out of my carpet, water isn't a big deal where Im at.

I just noticed that the weathertec is allowing melted snow to leak through the areas they clip into on my 5th gen. I don’t have them in my 4th so I can’t say forsure if there are fasteners to keep in place. Quite disappointed as there is a large section of frozen/wet area under the mat. No better than factory in my opinion

Ive got weathertech floor liners. Theyre pretty decent. Always run floor liners in my vehicles but never own them super long

I'm partial to WeatherTech digital liners. Have them in all my vehicles.

The front are nice and thick, but the passenger one doesn't fit the foot well perfectly.

The 2nd row seems thinner. The edges have rolled up from frequent use. Kinda defeats the purpose now.

Husky all the way. I've had both of them and the Weather Techs are garbage. Buy Husky and don't look back

Does anyone have any experience with the OEM Toyota 4R all-weather floor mats? I am looking for mats for my 2017 4R.

I got front Weathertech Laser Lined floor mats for my 07, perfect fit. Really happy with them. The colors match also! (grey)

WeatherTech v Husky... Coors v Bud... Coke v Pepsi... let the battles rage! :vader:

Your're likely good with either option. See what you can get on sale or second hand and dont look back.

FWIW, I went with the WeatherTech liners and have been happy with them.
