HVAC Screen LED conversion issue

Here's my problem: The stock bulbs work perfectly normal, no issues, no flickering, and everything is fine. I ordered the correct size LED bulbs, 4mm, and they fit fine. The problem is, they don't work. It is not a bulb issue because they do light up.

When I put them in, I turn the key to give the truck power and as I'm connecting the power plug from the truck to the HVAC the lights work and light up, but once I push the plug in further, they go off. I'm stumped as to what it could be. Again, the bulbs aren't defective (this happened with 2 different sets of them, the they work in the 4WD knob). Anyone know what this could be? I also tried adjusting the bulbs in the sockets, turned them over, different levels of tightness, etc. All the same results! Help please! :)

Same thing happens for me with the middle knob on my HVAC the one that changes temperature. I couldn't figure it out and I've just left it there since I never touch that knob anyways

Wait... when you plug the connector in all the way the lights go off? I would check your connectors for loose pins and/or the wiring. If you have a DVOM also go ahead and check voltages and such while you're at it. Could you get a video or some pictures? I;m not sure if I am visualizing your issue properly. o_o

Yeah it's hard to explain. With the stock bulbs, everything functions normally. But with the LEDs (multiple attempts with different LEDs) I can't get them to work. Yes they are the correct size. I put the bulb in the correct way, they fit, but when I plug the HVAC back in, they don't work. When I plug the HVAC in slowly, right when the plugs make contact, the screen lights up. But when I push it in further for the plug to snap into place, the screen shuts off (well before it snaps too).
