Just off the top of my head, I know of a Z06 'Vette twin turbo with 1100 HP at the motor that gets over 35 MPG.

One thing that happens for certain is that once you have all that power, you tend to use it more or your driving will get more spirited...definitely doesn't help your mileage.

More Horse Power = Less Mileage

More air = more fuel.

Okay. This was the statement I started to argue. I think even you know this is an untrue statement now.

How? You argued that getting more air in the cylinder will make it more efficient, I say it wont as the computer will correct at steady state (cruise/low load) to hit a fuel air mixture ratio using all those engine sensors (temp, o2, tps, knock, maf, etc).

In 6th gear at 60mph at 1200 rpm with that wonderful wind tunnel tested body. If I slow down to 55 I can get 23-24 mpg with the 4runner on a highway trip but I perfer free time over a few dollars in gas money.

Guys I don't make this up and I'm not argueing just to be right (hell my wife tells me I'm wrong all the time :ybrick it how our cars are designed and operate.
