I am needing suggestions on what to do with my headlights

I have a 99 4runner limited. And recently the passenger side got hit by something that put a small enough hole in the lens to let water in. As a result it fogs up pretty good, and as a result dims the light during heavy rain.

I would prefer to find a new lens for now if that is at all possible, since the headlight assembly does work. But after looking on the internet, any results I find always come back to full blown replacement headlights.

So, if this is my only option and I have to buy the whole assembly, I would like to get some recommendations on a brighter headlight. The lights I do have are not the brightest in the world after dark.

So I am wondering what you all have to recommend. I really do not want to do any sort of mod to accommodate a new headlight set. But I also don't mind doing a little work as long as it is just an hour or two. So basically I am turning to the experts. if my only option is to go get some new OEM headlights, I am good with that.

Your only option on brighter headlights is to do a projector retro fit with HIDs, or some better bulbs. I forgot what kind people recommended for being brighter then stock but if you search it you should be able to find it. And I would just buy a new headlight.

That is what i thought. But wanted to see if there were any other options before making the decision.

A projector retrofit is hundreds of dollars to do.... I'd just get a set of replacement lights.... and if you want more light... just get some auxilliary lights. I've got some TYC brand replacement headlights, and then bought some tractor lights, which I mounted in my lower valance, but bought HID's and mounted them in both those, and my stock lenses.

I find mine, plenty bright.... but most people complain that TYC brand lights, have a really bad scatter pattern, and aren't ideal to use, unless you're using them for a retrofit.

I have seen the TYC and have looked into them. Thanks for the input.

BTW I like how you mounted the tractor lights. Not a bad idea.

Thanks man.... there is a whole writeup in my build thread.... I modded my lower valance, and built little pods to sit the lights in....
