I bought a 4Runner!

I've always liked these trucks and so has my wife. So this weekend we finally got one! I went for a '97 SR5 4x4 6cyl 5spd. It's black. I'll be posting pics in a few days. I don't have it yet as the loan paperwork is not finished. The seller had to get a lien release form. But I'm really excited to finally have what I've always considered to be the best SUV out there.

Thanks for the welcome. I'll get some pics up soon, probably next week. I still have to get her home! I'm not a patient person so this waiting sucks! There seems to be some good info here on this site as well as some cool pics of forum members rides.

Cool ! I just bought a 97 SR5 4X4 too. Dark Green. 100K miles, but looks new !


What all options did yours come with?

85k - it seems to have a lot of options. it doesn't have the little winglet at the top of the rear window, I think it looks cleaner w/out it though. it has the in-dash 3 disk cd, wood accents on the dash, pwr roof, cruise, pw, pl, rear heat uuummmmm...
I'm paying $10500

Mine is a SR5 with power everything except seats, rear heat, roof rack, running boards/wheel well moldings, 16" alloys and bigger tires, towing package, keyless entry/alarm, leather steering wheel, rear spoiler/ front bug defector/ CD player.... (I haven't checked it out to see if it is a single or multi)

Some of these items my be standard for SR5, but it seems to be a pretty plush ride.


The Dark green metallic is nice, but I would have rather gone with white or silver given a choice.


Make sure you service your Auto Tranny fluid if you don't have a record of when it was last done. I just did mine and installed Mobil synthetic ATF Dextron III
