I Don't Fit In!

Hey everyone I recently joined the 4runner family and couldn't be happier, the only problem here is where is the 2nd Gen 4runner section in this forum? Last November I bought this 1994 Runner for 2k. The guy I bought it from thought the motor was blown but all it needed was a T-chain kit and a valve adjustment! The pics are from the day I bought it. So far I SAS'd it and I'm in the middle of changing the rear coils to Chevy leafs.

I have to say that I always wanted a first Gen runner but all the Runners I looked at were WAY messed or were too far out of my price range. So anyway is there a 2ndGen section in this forum? I'm using Tapatalk on my phone so maybe its just not showing up?

You're in it. The first and second gen platforms are nearly identical, mechanically, and share the "Classics" forum.

Why are you going from away from coils in the rear?

That is the same look I'm going for...mine is also white and been thinking of getting black rims like yours...those fender flares look good...anyone know where some can be found? Good looking truck man.

Those flares look like Bushwacker Extend-a-fenders--they arrive black, but are paintable to match. Try StreetSide Auto--excellent prices on them. Great looking truck, rcp! Sounds like you have a good plan to get the most out of it, and the body looks very solid. Oh, and to second what KidV said, you are currently in the section you were looking for--the 2nd Gen is considered a "classic" here, along with the 1st Gens. Enjoy!

I figured we probably share this section. Like I mentined earlier I've already completed the SAS and now the rear end is about an 1.5" lower. It already had a Pro Comp 3 or 4" lift but now with leaves up front and the coils in the rear it has crazy driving chatacteristics. I've never built a long travel 4-link suspension and I don't feel like teaching myself right now. My last wheeler was an 85 truck that had basically the same suspension set up that this runner will, to me leaves are easier and more predictable. This Runner is also kind of a DD and every long travel coiled rig I ever drove on the road was a total flexy flier!! Thanks for the warm welcome.

You can get more flex out of coils though

Not in stock form you can't, if I redesigned it with longer arms then yeah. They actually perform better and even eliminate axle wrap and wheel hop.
